Where can I get the Satin manual by the way? I would like to read it as it appears the plug in is pretty feature rich. Would you say these features replace the similar features of Uhbiks or are they complementary?
u-he Satin or Slate VTM?

This thread is useless without at least some sound examples of similar settings.

This manual is amazing, because it explains a lot of things, you never thought about. For example what is AC Bias and fact that it's AM-ed by original signal.
Murderous duck!

I really like u-he's mindset.
For example Zebra. It can be the simplest synth with just only one oscillator or the most complex one with over six oscillators. The possibilites are endless but if you wanna simple but good sound it's easily possible.
Diva is similar. Just select waveform and filter and you are good to go. On the other hand there is lot's of interesting modulation possibilites and stuff like voice map modulators etc. for very precise fine tuning if wanted.
And it's great that Satin follows this same mindset. You can select from variety of presets and just change the input and output values or you can go deeper and edit almost every parameter you can imagine.
Hopefully it stays like this in the future.

Totally... I love Diva and Zebra not just for their fantastic sound, but for the very clever architecture behind them.Vertti wrote:I really like u-he's mindset.

And as you said, you can start easily enough, but when (and if) you want to go deep it's all there too.
The Diversion synth is like that too.
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

Open two Satins. Click [Group 1] on both. Adjust knob on any. Right-click a knob and "lock", then wiggle that knob.J4R1O wrote:Just playing with Satin demo mode and trying to figure out how to use Groups.
The concept is quite simple and effective
(but *never* use Groups when you have two songs/projects open in the same host

VTM is really really great... but there's a sound/tone to all the Slate plugins I own that I'm less and less sure to like on my music.
I've never tilted with the other tape emus as well. I demoed them all but the UAD's.
I'm a huge Diva fanboy, and I'm very impatient to give Satin a try. I have the highest opinion of all the ears at U-He, so I can't wait for monday ! I bet that all the features and the Service panel can lead to so many tones !
I'm quite sure some users will try to match the 2 plugins soon enough too.

It's been leaked on M****y and later on some other sites... it's a beta though, we're still fixing a few last minute bugs.TheoM wrote:J4R1O wrote:Just playing with Satin demo mode and trying to figure out how to use Groups.

I don't care much as it isn't a crack, but it's worth noting that we can reproduce crashes with it.

I haven't noticed any crashes yet, but had couple of strange loud peaks when that vinyl noise kicked in. Not sure if it was Satin, but timing with that vinyl noise matches...Urs wrote:It's been leaked on M****y and later on some other sites... it's a beta though, we're still fixing a few last minute bugs.

I'm testing/tweaking it on Sonar X1d.

possibly... thing is, if you have multiple instances then the demo crackling can get really loud... something I'm going to fix in the future - it's a mishap on my side, as a developer I usually test single instances early on, and register them for later testing, hence I never run into demo noise from more than one or two plugs.J4R1O wrote:I haven't noticed any crashes yet, but had couple of strange loud peaks when that vinyl cracking kicked in.
