I would like to find out if the trigger buttons are velocity sensitive as well.. I will try and find out tonight.

You are absolutely correct I can do 32nd notes on my 1982 Casio crappy keyboard as well.
However on a weighted keyboard that we have not had the chance to touch, I wanted to know if 32nd notes could be possible at a moderate tempo.
Har put it exactly into context, the rebound of the key needs to be quick enough to allow one to play a drum roll, or roll a note per-say.
If I found that the key would slowly rise up which would cause a roll to sound more like a stutter, then this would be a problem and I would probably pass on the keyboard since it will be used for more than Piano/Organ work.

I will try and find out if the buttons are velocity sensitive and come back with an answer.

Not really. I honestly don't know how fast you can repeat notes on this new keyboard when the only reference made was to 32nd notes, with no reference to tempo. For all I know, my old Vox organ might be able to do 32nd notes at the tempo pygmallion13 had in mind when he made that comment.

Without defining a tempo, a reference to 32nd notes is worthless when trying to estimate how many repetitive notes you can play within a given amount of time. I'm not trolling. I'd simply like to know how fast this new keyboard will let you repeat a given note.

You are correct, and I apologize for not referring you to a tempo. When I say playing 32nd notes, I rarely play 32nd notes on an inst. but rather while drum programming.

That said, I would consider moderate tempo to be between 90-110bpm.

Something that would consist of 32nd notes would be a quick fill or roll off as Har made note of.
Not like I would actually play a few bars of 32nd notes @ 110bpm unless of course I played with bands like Mudvayne or Meshugga..but that would be like 150-190bpm .
In fact the music I produce is usually much slower, usually around 50-90bpm.

there was something like "with an imbuilt evolution uc-33e"
well, i guess no velocity-sensitivity then
but i would have been suprised to find a keyboard with with inbuilt drumpad for that price...

Considering the fact that they are not weighted, I wouldn't see that as an issue....

However velocity would/could be a nice feature on these triggers, dont you think ?

i'd definitely be willing to pay some extra bucks for that.

duh.

a) can't buy a microkontrol because i want and need a proper keyboard.

b) can't use my digital piano because it lacks any controller. and there's no room for it left in the studio.

c) can't use my cz-101 because (see section a)) - and i want to sell it anyway.

i'm still stuck with this pre90ies casio sampler. the kbd is alright, but no choice for piano stuff.

i wish there was more stuff like the roland fantom-s88 - without built-in fancy stuff. 88 great keys, some drum pads, some sliders.

Nah, but you can do 64th at half the tempo.

According to the MIDI implementation chart in the "Advanced Guide", this keyboard transmits both channel *and* key aftertouch!

(Oh, and Note Off Velocity as well...)

Should we believe this? I really want this keyboard to be all it's advertised to be!

End of June...it should be here for me...that's what they're saying now anyway!

A question...I haven't yet read any specs...will I be able to config the unit to control my mixer within say, Cubase or Reason? It would be awsome if I can have real time control instead of using a mouse to click and drag each and every mixer lever.

Anyone has UC-33e? How is it?
