I'm just looking for a way to command bank and patch changes on my Zoom G5, which has an awful bank selection methodology (you have to simultaneously push two far-spaced foot buttons) and each bank holds only 3 patches.

Hee hee! The main problem isn't that I don't have wide enough feet to hit the two button combo for up or down bank - it's just that having only 3 patches in a bank makes for a silly amount of switching. Also the software in the G5 is also not very forgiving if your timing of hitting the two-button combos is not so great.

There's a guy who has done tons of hardware mods on his G5 that allows him footswitch control of simply up/down to the next/previous patch in one long sequence, but he's soldering and unsoldering on the PC boards and that just makes me nervous.

I would rather simply have my iPHone on my music stand, with a grid of bank/patch changes pre-programmed on screen so the rows are the songs, and the columns are the patches I used in the songs in sequential order, and I just tap the grid to send the bank/program change messages.

I think I'm going to bail on the class. It starts in October, and I just don't think I have the time for the class.
