Reason has no sound i.e. is not having a "soundengine" just like FL Studio, Sonar, Cubace, Reaper has no "soundengine" either. Basically all these DAWs do the same thing, but they may have a different workflow and feel to it. As this thread was giving misleading information, I decided to edit it and fix it.
As lots of the people are saying what Reason doesn't do - I could list lots of reasons why Reason is the best tool for it's strengths. In these days Reason is a superb solution to create music and it offers more than one could dream. I bought Reason in 2002 at version 2.0 and I have done a good decision. And remember that you'll be making better music when you are a friend with your tools. Cheers!

Every daw sounds the same, maybe it's just the workflow, gui, or stock plugins/samples that give you that "different sound".

Nope, I tried Fruity loops and in Reason it doesn't sounds the same. I tried Reaper and the sound of the effects doesn't sound the same. Cubase doesn't sound like Reason either. Here WE GO AGAIN! Vivala Estonia!

Of course DIFFERENT effects won't sound the same between DAWs. LOL.

Read that link that trimph1 posted more clearly.

All DAWs can sound exactly the same - but they are not all set up to sound exactly the same from the get go.

When you DEMo Fruity, you usually fill the drums stripes and the difference is there right away.

...and then you go and disable that limiter that is enabled by default on the master track (other DAWs don't do this!), and the change is obvious.

Did you people wanted to win again? The maximizer does that or something? Yes, in some way, but if you go and listed the demo songs, are you sure then that it didn't sounds different then all the songs you did with Reason for 10 years in row?

yep. The scorpions in OZ think differently than the ones in the Sahara.

Anyways, cables. Cables all sound different, don't you think?

Black cables sound best, warmer somehow...

One test i'm gonna make is going to reneder all the demo songs of every music making app and burn them onto the CD and hear the difference, if there is any then.
