hi

I am searching for a software that i can use to read/visualize existing midi files of popular songs.

I tried doing it in FL studio, it's pretty usable. But i was wondering if there is any software which is made specifically for this use?

I came across Guitar PRo http://www.guitar-pro.com/en/index.php and Tab Pro http://plus.ultimate-guitar.com/tab-pro/ and tried tux guitar too

Any other suggestions?

Basically, i want to import midi files into that program and then mute other tracks and practice piano/guitar pieces in parts.

I didn't have any problems so far with importing MIDI into REAPER and split it into the different instrument tracks...

If you want to make scores with MIDI files, you could use Musescore or another score editor which can import MIDI, for example this:

reaper does not animate the keys in piano roll editor, I am a visual guy need to see what's playin..

fl studio does that, and i am okay with it. BUT
Fl studio does not show notation/tablature.

fl studio right now does the job for me. But i was just wondering if there is any software who would be specifically for this purpose?

Wondering if there's a prgram which has onscreen keyboard/tablature and it animates when we replay the song?

best!

You could route the midi inside Reaper to a VST like TobyBear's quickkeys, or outside to a standalone virtual MIDI keyboard.
