If you read my original message on this I was simply asking if someone already owns those IK products, what alternatives would IK be prepared to offer instead.
Simple question I would have thought

So, how does this compare feature-wise with the ART USB Dual Pre for $80 which I've been thinking about buying? The ART seems to have everything that this one has, plus stereo in and out. Plus it's cheaper. Plus it works with Mac & Windows. Just curious...

(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

Feature wise iRig Pro has that one beat by a long shot. One of the biggest being no MIDI. In life, cheaper isn't always better. Plus you'll need an adapter for it to work with any iOS device (Added cost, especially with 30 pin and lightning adapters) IF it even works well on iOS. iRig Pro comes with all 3 connection cables (Lightning, 30 pin AND USB) and you have the heaps of quality IK software/iOS freebies that comes included.

Thanks ObiK for the info! I forgot about Midi!
What minimum latency can one expect from this device? Thanks!

ObiK, I'm still doing research and trying to decide.... How does this device compare with the Lexicon Omega? Thanks in advance!

Could you please expound? Are you speechless that the Lexicon Omega is such a better deal, or are you speechless that the Lexicon Omega is such a piece of crap that it shouldn't have been mentioned? I'm used to your negative comments, but I'm just not sure which direction the negativity is pointed, and that's the part I'm interested in regarding this product versus the other product. Thanks!BMoore wrote:I'm speechless.audiojunkie wrote:ObiK, I'm still doing research and trying to decide.... How does this device compare with the Lexicon Omega? Thanks in advance!

Shot the question over to our support/development team, should have an answer for you shortly.audiojunkie wrote:Thanks ObiK for the info! I forgot about Midi! What minimum latency can one expect from this device? Thanks!
Wow, you took me back. This was one of my first real interfaces years ago right as I was finishing school. Funny you should bring it up, a few things when you compare it to iRig Pro.audiojunkie wrote:ObiK, I'm still doing research and trying to decide.... 1 - Its not mobile. Like at all, you might (BIG maybe, but probably not at all) get away with bus power, but using the preamps you'll notice how much worse they sound if they work at all. Don't expect Phantom power at all. It was made and released BEFORE the iPad ever existed. It needs a wall wart power supply to work. Defeats the on the go mentality iOS music helps foster.
2 - Personally, I didn't keep it very long and upgraded ASAP. It wasn't very reliable. A quick google search should confirm this as I don't want to simply bad mouth a product. Its a hit and miss when it comes to quality.
3 - iRig PRO comes with a ton more software and freebies on iOS. Plus, it was MADE for iOS/Apple devices.
PS - I barely noticed you're in Ogden! Always nice to see a fellow Utahn.

The latency you get iRig Pro generally depends on the software and drivers settings.audiojunkie wrote:Thanks ObiK for the info! I forgot about Midi! What minimum latency can one expect from this device? Thanks!
iRig PRO latency with AmpliTube or VocaLive is around 10 mS.

Cool! Thanks for the info! So you are from Utah? What part? Where are you living now?
I did some research and confirm the hit/miss build quality of the Omega. Strange though, it is listed as a completely supported device on Auria's web site....
I already have a midi device, so, if I removed that item from the list, how does the focusrite itrack solo compare? The more research I do, the better I like the iRig Pro...
And a final question for this post... I don't see anywhere where there is a line out on the iRig Pro... That can't be right, can it?
Thanks again!
