Hi, after a lot of "A serious program error has occurred, Live will shut down after this message box is closed" dialog boxes (EDIT: so it wasn't easy at all to go ahead - purchased copy of Live, of course) at last here's my entry, created today using 16 instances of the Mono-Fury freeware vsti. EDIT: thanks for choosing it since it's really cool.

https://soundcloud.com/nitrowheelsmusic ... -september

DAW: Ableton Live.
Effects: Ableton Live built-in effects.
Additional effects: mda stereo, sx mono.

:)

(btw: the original version of the track with a slight pitching effect in the first bars, removed to comply with the OSC rules, is on my SC page)

Yeah, it's a shame, so much modern music uses pitch and reverse effects. No worse IMHO than some of the other effects which are allowed.

The original version sounds great!

What about automating / modulating the pitch wheel on the synth? Is that not allowed? I thought the rule about pitch fx meant pitch shifters that effect the audio. Anybody?

Right - automating any parameter on the synth is allowed, including pitch shifting and/or oscillator tuning.

100% Mono/Fury in Cantabile Solo - and only two instances of Mono/Fury - except for the last 15 seconds this was done in one take while performing live (in my studio :)

Ok, Plugins used were Phrazor for the MIDI sequencing, MIDIForcetoKey, Ambience, BootEQMKII, Classic Delay, and Limiter6.

Note: I did add a 15 second ending on from a Mono/Fury sequence done in Cantabile and welded the addition to the end using Sony Acid Pro7

This is my entry for the KVR One Synth Challenge for OSC 56: Mono/Fury --- see sites.google.com/site/kvrosc/osc-56-mono-fury

[EDIT - Just noticed the song has sound-card pops - used Audacity click removal on final wave file]
I used to get clicks in my last house whenever anything turned on like ac or dishwasher and when a light switch was flicked.

Furious Restraint

Ableton Live
14 tracks (monofury - tweaked presets)
CompEq-ST, Stardust, Thrillseeker VBL, lots of Ambience

Used ambience presets in lieu of compression as it seemed to do a better job than the usual "cube of sound" compressors which were either too subtle or right in your face (with seemingly no shade of grey which matched any sound).

EDIT: 14th Sept - redrafted whole track (4hrs)
EDIT: 18th Sept - new title for track

I found the pops on certain presets useful and even decided to enhanced some on a kick drum sound. But yeah, the clicks were awful and I sometimes had to reload the file to stop oscillators oscillating wildly without input.

None of these free synths are perfect. I was reaaalllllly deflated going through the presets on this ultra-boring synth, so I drew inspiration from the Egyptians and what they achieved with lump hammers and logs.

Hey Guys.

This is my first submission since Chimera. Really doesn't seem that long ago!

https://soundcloud.com/retrax/retrax-ex ... a-fun-fury

I've used 30 instances of MonoFury, in Reaper, with only native effects, namely:

ReaComp/XComp/Fir(EQ)/Delay
JS: Transhape, Eventhorizon2 & Stereowidth

This synth sounds great!

HICKS: Are you finished?
NEWT: I guess we're not going to be leaving right now, then?
RIPLEY: I'm sorry, Newt.
NEWT: You don't have to be sorry. It wasn't your fault.
HUDSON: That's it! Game over, man! Game over! What the f*ck are we gonna do now? What are we gonna do?
BURKE: Maybe we could build a fire and sing couple of songs, huh? Why don't we try that?!
NEWT: We'd better get back because it'll be dark soon, and they mostly come at night. Mostly.
