Can we have each step (on the data step in pattern view) actually be numbered?

If I understand this correctly then each track has 16 chord memories?
It might be overkill but, why not have 16 chord memories for each pattern per track? So you would have 16*16 chord memories per track.

There is no room left for numbers to be displayed, but some indicator under every 4th bar should do the trick.

What would be the purpose of having so many chord memory slots?
