they shouldn't sound different; what that means is they are giving you something other than fidelity, ie., distortion.
the guy that makes SAW Studio has some complicated-looking argument as though to prove that thing does something different but 'digital audio' in Digital Audio Workstation is supposed to give you more or less the same ones and zeroes you're working with in it, rather than color it in the output/render or anywhere along the way.

I tried reason once. It sounded SO BAD that it corrupted the rest of the computer and then EVERYTHING sounding like ass.

Hmm, I'm using Reason with a KORG Kronos, Novation Ultranova, Roland Juno 106, JD-800 and SCI Prophet VS. I'm using Reason effects and the SSL mixer. I don't know but Reason doesn't really sound like a 'Reason Sound' to me!

I do use the Predator, too. Doesn't sound like Reason to me either.

I do come across of a lot of crappy music that is produced nowadays with Reason... or with Cubase, Live, Reaper, Logic, etc. etc. I don't like those either!

there is a reason for it.

Really good breakfast burritos. With heavenly salsa, avocados, bacon, eggs (scrambled) and suateed onions. Red pepers and american cheese with a side of fruit (strawberries, pineapple and grapes) and jalapeños.

Scary good, scary delish, I want them NOW!

(Im kidding btw)

I actually found you could do a incredible sounding track with Reason alone. The only reason I sold my copy is that I own Komplete 8 and All the Fxpansion software besides BFD2 so i just didn't find a use for it that much.

I also found the PDC was getting to me when I tried to use it as a rewire app within Live.

With reason i dont know of many other programs like it that let you run 80 virtual tracks loaded with virtual instruments.. fx etc all in real time.

It is also fairly rock solid..
