Now this one is cool.
This is the first really inspiring chord-app I've tried.
From the features like velocity, library, random, presets, to the control over chords. Build your own, or let the app work it's magic.
Undo, redo, and the extensive midi features.
Not to mention that the interface is great with a really good workflow.

Do you know if the functionality is similar to chord tracks and chord assistant in Cubase 7?

Kind of. Although I'm not very familiar with C7.

Check ChordPolyPads documentation in the above post, and the videos on youtube.

damn now this is indeed awesome, wish it was a plugin though, assignable to my pads on maschine - this is whats been missing for my setup! I have an iphone, but I doubt I'd like touching its screen to make music with. Hopefully you guys decide on doing this as a plugin, awesome app though!

I bet it would work, since it is designed for midi out.

Yeah, no. The chord track in C7 is a lot more powerful. This is a nice little improvisation tool, but, for me at least, it wouldn't replace the chord track.

The real power of the chord track is in how it integrates with the rest of your track. It helps you to voice the instruments in your track linked to the chord track. For example, I've taken to doing some basslines by just linking the bass sound to the chord track and just recording the rhythm on whatever note is convenient. I also find the chord track convenient for quickly laying out chord progressions and building simple backing tracks. There's quite a bit of power in the chord track that I don't see demonstrated in that app.

FWIW: The chord track was enough reason for me to update my C5 to C7.

Can you delete the internal sounds to free up space (I take it it's either a typical GM soundfont or some random samples that's not gonna see any use anyway)?

The strumming, does it sound decent controlling some guitar in Thumbjam, Cubasis or whatever? Can I strum up and down,a la your typical guitar controller?

You can't delete the sounds but there's only about a dozen. It's not really meant to be used with those anyway I don't think ( though actually there's a couple of quite nice pads)

You can set each pad to strum up down or random and adjust the speed of the strum. But if you wanted to strum a chord up and down you would need to use 2 pads per chord. Then again there are 128 pads 16 per page. So that shouldn't be a problem.
