mcompressor's curve-drawing feature is cool I guess for special effects, but I think it's kind of ahead of its time as a mastering tool the way I see it. I was actually working oversampling into a JS compressor so I could set really exact attack/release/rms sizes. It sounds really crisp this way, and I figured mcompressor would be even better. But it just ends up sounding choppy if you try to draw the curve. I think if it had a lot more oversampling though, it would be able to make more accurate measurements of the volume and would be able to handle such harsh 'turns' in volume and could sound pretty amazing maybe? But like I said, maybe it would be in the halfway distant future where something like 1000x oversampling is doable without a supercomputer. I was just wondering if you see it the same way, or anyone else with more technical knowledge than me on this forum

It really does not work that way. In fact 16x oversampling already is a hell of a lot. Of course, if you draw some really crazy curve and at the same moment you have extremely fast attack & release, then there may be a difference, but I don't suppose something you would hear.
