No problem Tony, thank you !tonhelm wrote:I'll fix this later today. In the meantime here's the complete sentence:Endor-8o8 wrote:Is it me or there is a mistake at the page 4 of the manual, in the part concerning the Trebble knob of the "Desk" mode. The sentence is cut after "Cutting with the led on,".
"Cutting with the LED on, additionaly adds a mid range boost."
great for distorted guitar and electric piano.

No demo, just the free IVGI which is a cut down version of SDRRkvaca wrote:where have you found the demo?metal wrote:No need to demo this first - IVGI did all the PR needed to sell it to me.
Cheers

Yea, not quite clearly phrased.. my bad.. the IVGI is the demo, and it did a good job at that. So what I ment was I didn't need further persuasion to decide whether or not to buy the full version.kvaca wrote:where have you found the demo?metal wrote:No need to demo this first - IVGI did all the PR needed to sell it to me.

Though keep in mind, this is still not a console channel strip!sinkmusic wrote:The thing is that you have 3 distortions mode as you might expect (tube, fuzz, digital), but the DESK mode can really do some magic and features compression, eq, enhancement... So it expands the sonic potential of the plugin even more (more on the subtle side), so don't overlook it
It's just adding some versatility.
Not quite...metal wrote:the IVGI is the demo, and it did a good job at that. So what I ment was I didn't need further persuasion to decide whether or not to buy the full version.
IVGI was an appetizer, no demo. IVGI and SDRR feature different saturations. Like Tony once wrote in his mails: "imagine twins that were separated at childbirth".
SDRR however evolved drastically since the initial announcement. So the "twin" analogy doesn't really apply anymore. But both tools still complement each other.
You might be on to something...Endor-8o8 wrote:-Just a little comment out of the topic- All these sweet sounding shelving curves make me think that Klanghelm should work on an eq...
A FAIR WARNING TO WAVELAB 7/8 USERS (VST3 version):
Wavelab still has the following issues with the VST3 / 32bit version:
a) the infamous "Audio Forward Bug" (no audio is being processed on render
b) preset recall doesn't work on host/preset relaunch
As with DC8C-2, Tony is on to it. But since he doesn't have a Wavelab copy for developers, it might take a while to find and fix the bugs. The VST2 versions work fine for the time being.
EDIT:
Oh and Tony. Maybe it's a good idea to write down then the intro prices will end, and how much it'll cost regulary. It also seems that the VUMT price went up a bit (might be mistaken on that). Still fair for what you get though. Especially with the current lifetime upgrade program.

The price for VUMT didn't go up. It's 8 € for about a year now.Compyfox wrote: Oh and Tony. Maybe it's a good idea to write down then the intro prices will end, and how much it'll cost regulary. As for the intro price: I've not decided yet how long it may last. But at least until the end of October. And rest assured, it won't cost a fortune afterwards, more something around 30€.

Ahah great ! I was looking at my DC8C2 and the SDRR and thought that the only missing unit from Klanghelm is an Eq with the same kind of toolbox/kit concept that SDRR and DC8C2 are built on.Compyfox wrote:You might be on to something...Endor-8o8 wrote:-Just a little comment out of the topic- All these sweet sounding shelving curves make me think that Klanghelm should work on an eq...
I think SDRR is gonna find a place of choice in my mastering chain...

Hey Tony, I just noticed that the "Drift" is not clearly explained in the manual, can you tell us more about this one please ?

drift modulates the internal processes to some extend, adding to the liveliness of the saturation. if you turn it off you'll get a more controlled, steady (not static) sound. at maximum it can do some funny things. It's great to add some movement to static sounds. Try it out in DIGI mode, reduce the BIT control and engage the RATE LED to get some kind of digital wow and flutter (?). Also the FUZZ mode screams for higher drift settings IMO. When used carefully you can get some subtle stereo widening with it. Since drift as every other control in SDRR influences the saturation character itself, the effect of each control gets more prominent at higher saturation amounts.Endor-8o8 wrote:Hey Tony, I just noticed that the "Drift" is not clearly explained in the manual, can you tell us more about this one please ?
