For once I took a different approach..... I have thought long and often what style I wanted to use, (and the big interview helped - most common factor fave tune - also my own fave  ).

Created the wav's this weekend and slowly absorbed and put about 40+ plugs into one folder. Now to make a song with what's in my mind 8)

Bram - just got a 'reminder' today about joining? I'm IN already am I not? :? Or just a general e-mail to all Smart subscribers?

Entrants? We don't need no stinkin' Entrants! I've got enough competition as it is already!

May we convolve a Smartelectronix file with another Smartelectronix file using a convolution processor?

Post

Only if the convolution processor is made by Smartelectronix :)

hi all smart-crew!!

i'm using Antti's ASynth and VSynth for my composition/entry
assuming it's ok (it's ok?)
i've obteneid some percussion sounds from this synths, processed with cyanide, supaphaser, ambience .....
the question is: i'm able to import this sounds into my fav drummachine?
(wich work like a sampler in this case)
please let me know if it's ok or if i'm out-of-rules

thankU 8) .. ciao!

databass: *no* it's not OK. Antti's two plugins have not been released on smartelectronix yet (and they won't be before the competition is over), so you can't use them!!! You can use the drum-macchine as long as you use it as a sample-triggerer.

J Dub: the newsletter was to all subscribers. what name did you send a track under?

someday: as Whyterabbyt sais: if we made the convolution plugin, sure ( :P )

So i need to resume to myself all the thing:
We must use as audiofiles raw files converted from ANY Smartelectronix file.
We may use any DAW
We may edit the files
We may play the files with ANY sampler or sample player
We may ONLY use plugins from Smartelectronix, even EQ and Compression.

yes, and don't forget you may also pitch the samples to use them as -for example- melodic samples.

"Tragic Deaths Of Insects" - but I think you confirmed with me awhile ago it's safe and sound with you now? Big thanks to Bluedad again for helping me out. :D

At first, I was amazed how well Smart Electronix 'adds' to music. But is really incredible in that all you need is Smart stuff to make a complete song. I think it's humourous all the folks trying to get the hideous samples to sound nice and interesting somehow? It will be something to hear all the contributions when the contest wraps. :D

your rules mention compressors being ok..

so i can use a 3rd party VST compressor from outside of Smart Electronix and thats okay for the competition?

what about panning? if my host allows me to pan certain channels is that allowed?

No, you have to use Bram's compressor! :D

hmmmmmmmm

and the panning?

Panning should be fine - after all, it's just volume for independent sides.
