Of course, just kidding, we even had a vote whether to do a CM special too so it's all known.

And i can say till here. ;)

z.prime wrote:How to get SoundCloud players in your voting form

Hi everyone (reposting from submission thread),

I was a little irritated with the voting page - having to go back & forth between SoundCloud/MP3s and the voting form, so I came up with a pretty simple script to put SoundCloud players for each of the songs appropriately in the voting form. Unfortunately because of how the Google forms work, I don't think it can be embedded on the page itself. So I created a bookmarklet to apply it.

If you'd like to use it, it's a pretty simple set of 3 steps and here's a page explaining how to use it.

Note: you just need to add the bookmarklet once, then every time you go to the voting form, click it.

Incidentally, this helps to solve the comment issue since you have the SC player right there in the voting form.

Enjoy!

Added this to the OSC site FAQ page for reference.

Reaper question,

I can use Bank/Program Select dialogue box to change presets in some of the CM synths like AlphaCM and DuneCM in a midi file.

But not manage to succeed using SynthMasterCM / CurveCM / ZebraCM so my question how can I have a midi file with Bank/Program Select changes using SynthMasterCM / CurveCM / ZebraCM ?

I suspect you won't be able to save something to change programs for these plugins - they probably have a custom preset browser, which doesn't lead itself to program changes (I know the u-he plugs are this way). There could be way to dump Sysex into the MIDI file but I doubt most modern VSTs are going to support that natively - perhaps some VST wrapper would do the trick and save the VST parameters in a Sysex blob? (A quick Google search didn't yield anything.) It seems unlikely but why would you want MIDI anyway when you can just save the REAPER track?

Z.prime - Creativity and Speed :)

One midi track layering different presets does wonders (see my mono/fury song :)

One midi track through different presets does wonders (see my mono/fury song Smile anyway allows for a type of live creativity that I lets me create faster ; no hassles cutting up midi and inserting a new instance with a diff preset Wink

researched a bit ... found this for aalto;

"Change presets/patches with MIDI program change automation.
Is this possible? I can't think of way to send program change messages to change patches in Ableton. Thanks for your help. Thanks for a great synth, Randy!

OK, I added this feature but apparently completely failed to document it. Sorry for the confusion.
Here's how to set up Aalto to respond to MIDI program change messages.
Make a "MIDI Programs" folder in your user presets directory: ~/Library/Audio/Presets/Madrona Labs/Aalto/MIDI Programs. Note the capitalization and the space.
put any programs you want to trigger through MIDI in that folder.
send Aalto a program change message to select a program from the folder.
The folder is scanned by Aalto on startup and the presets in the "MIDI Programs" folder are assigned numbers in alphabetical order. If you go to the folder from the preset menu, you will see each preset listed with its MIDI number afterwards.
To rearrange the programs, you can give them new names so they are in a different alphabetical order. I realize this is a little clunky, but this way it got done instead of not done. Someday I could come up with a GUI for making sets of MIDI-selectable presets.

Program change in MIDI items work fine in Reaper here. Post a project example and I'll test if it works.

Note:

As was said in the last voting thread (OSC 55), we will revert to an older system where prizes now are to be claimed by the winners in the voting threads rather than offered by PMs as it might improve speed and general openness.

The general rule about prize allocations should also be known so:

Prizes are given to the top 5 placings, winner gets first choice and so on down. If the field is less than 20 entries, only 4 prizes will be available. If less than 15, 3 etc.

And while I'm at it, only fair to make clear that:

Song licenses are whatever you set it to when they are on your own account at SoundCloud, but when in archive it's:
Creative Commons license: Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0

The rules are amended.

Hi guys,
It looks like Beat Magazine initialized, what they call it - 'beatdrive'.

Maybe in the future they have some interesting stuff for OSC.

That looks very useful indeed, thanks for the tip :)
