Echoes in the Attic wrote:Minor issue, similar to one that used to be there before: The drop down box for the presets does not update the checkmark beside the folder of the current presets. This used to happen to the quality drop downs (nano/low/high/xtrm) as well, but that's fixed now. Just the preset box doesn't update properly.
Andrew, did you catch this?

Wha happened?

we had a PITA AAX issue that we had to fix... took Denis several days to figure out what the cause of the issue is. He seems to know what it is now, and is working on a fix.

Everything else is just waiting on that to be released...

BTW, some cool "B2 and Aether in the wild" news:

A collaboratively edited version of my ambient composition: "Wayfarer - The Ancient Ones" will be used in Roberto Miller's 2014 film "Mandorla", which is primarily scored by ambient music legend Robert Rich and also features works of Michael Stearns:

http://mandorlamovement.com/

Robert Rich and Michael Stearns from the Hearts of Space label in the 80s/90s were some of my childhood heroes in ambient electro-acoustic music. Together with Stephen Hill, founder of Hearts of Space, these three guys are probably the most directly responsible for my interest in electronic music in my teenage years and everything that has followed since then! Throw in Steve Roach, and these guys pretty much invented American ambient music. They are true heroes of mine, and it is a true honor and privilege to work with them.

The film looks like it is going to be incredible also!

Check out the trailer and Roberto's blog post about this music here:

Yeah was just curious because I thought you had said the last beta was the release candidate and then we didn't hear anything. Also I pointed out a bug but didn't hear any acknowledgement. Nothing serious.

Regarding the menu check-boxes, do you see this in hosts running in 64-bit mode?

We thought it was only an issue with OSX 32-bit versions, which still revert to some old carbon code in some things we don't control, and thus we consider this a legacy issue and only a very minor annoyance that is most likely not worth time tracking down and hacking code that does not really belong to us and might get overwritten whenever the SDK is updated next... these sort of things are dangerous to mess around with, as it tends to end up that you fix one thing and break something else.

No I only use the 64bit VST on OSX.

Looks like you fixed the issue for the quality mode dropdown boxes but the same fix is needed in the preset menu.

cheers

I had to remove all 2CAudio files by hand - the uninstaller wasn't able to delete *all* files on hdd. After deleting the files I installed all betas again - so it works now for me!

Yes and no.

B2 provides more options regarding eq (-curves) and saturation. You can have a dual engine in one. I like to set a "room" preset in engine a, and a "hall" preset in engine b. You can fade between these two easily, which gives pretty interesting effects. So, yes, B2 is different to Aether.

On the other hand, you can achieve almost everything with Aether + 3rd party plugins like an eq and a saturation plugin. In that case, no, not that much difference.

I like to have both (or even all 3 ;)) plugins. Best reverb buy in my life, period.

New B2

New (Final?? Please dear god!! :D ) builds for all three:

B2 1.2.0 b241
Aether 1.6.0 b142
Breeze 1.2.0 b137

Install Instructions:

http://www.2caudio.com/support/updates#_b2
http://www.2caudio.com/support/updates#_aether
http://www.2caudio.com/support/updates#_breeze

(If you like, you can simply re-download from your previous update order if you still have remaining downloads instead of placing a new update order.)

* Fixes AAX Parameter change host-crash issue and all other known AAX issues.

* Fixes all known issues for VST and AU.

* Fixes "installed Expansions Packs were previously erased by the installer" issue

* Fixes two issues with filter updates in some cases.

* Re-optimized gain for all presets so that all presets have the same RMS level.

We think this is now IT...
