Basslane VST 1.0 - New Free utility plugin

Hi everybody,

I've released the initial version of a freebie utility plugin called Basslane VST/PC. Nothing complicated..but something I often needed myself.

Basslane is a free audio effect for VST compatible hosts. It's a simple, yet very handy little utility to control the stereo field of lower frequencies in your audio material.

What is this useful for?

• Regain tightness in the bottom of your mix by preventing kick drums and bass lines flying around all over the stereo field.

• Drumtracks mixed from multiple sources, or processed with delay, reverb etc will often just sound confusing if the kickdrum isn't centered. Just drop Basslane on the track.

• Experiment with effects on various tracks without losing definition and focus in the bass region.

That is a very good idea. I can already think of several occasions where it would have been useful to use Basslane. e.g because I've not got the latest greatest PC, I tend to use SIR and render to audio when I know my channels are almost ready for final mix. And as you have to use stereo for SIR, any bass or even lower mids that I don't really want in true stereo, also get stereo'd....but simply putting on an Eq cut can lose the feel of a reverb - hey presto - Basslane.

And yes - it is a very good-looking GUI - nice work.
Consider it downloaded and very shortly to be used.

It really does a fantastic job on drum-loops which have been put trough a few fx with bringing the bass which
got lost in the chain back to the surface

I will return to the development of that now. Just needed a break from it since it's been about 7-8 months of work so far on that vsti
I really want to get it finished now.

I can't really say for sure when a demo will be available...the deadline has already been passed many times Perhaps in about two weeks.

Hey no rush. Do what you got to do. But I make hip hop, trip hop, and drum and bass beats amongst other things so I can't wait to hear the sounds since it is geared towards those genres. Also, the price is very appealing

That's a good question. I need to find the right balance between rich content on one side, and civilized filesizes and useability on the other side. I want it to be a collection with many types of snares etc....but I also don't want it to be an intimidating and blocking experience to open up the sample-browser.

Right now, there's more content than there's room for in one VSTi. I need to go through the samples once again, and pick out the best and most suitable for the type of VSTi.

It will not be one of those 2-6 DVD disc sets ....and it will not be a 10 MB download. That's all I can say.
