Hi,
I've been hearing this "pew pew laser" thingy FX a lot lately and I'm wondering how it's done.
Here's the example (starts from 0:47 to 0:57) -
Here's another one (starts from 0:17 to 0:20) -
Is it some kind of plugin that makes this sound that can be arpeggiated with a knob or something?
Thanks in advance!

bless you. arguably one of the greatest thread titles i've seen in a while.
You can make pew pew fx sounds by automating the rate & gain on your LFO that is tied to pitch of your osc(s).

I'm not responding to any thread with the word drop in it.

For a single pew modulate pitch or a very resonant filter or other effect with an envelope which is just a long decay. For multiple pewpew action use a downward ramp LFO to the same. Other waveforms can be used, sine and triangle yields siren type sounds and square and pulse waves sound like alarms/buzzers (especially if you use them on a squarewave).

get your laser gunz plugin
No but seriously you can do it with modulating EGs, LFOs and Sequencers to filters and oscillator pitches. At least I think you can.. I dont normally make pew pew effects so i might need to give it a test.
I know what you mean though.
IF all else fails buy D16 Nepheton for it's Laser gun sound
