I like it a lot. quite cheap, lovely GUI, 32/64 bit vst & AU PC & MAC

Lots of preset curves all at the click of a button plus a nice big mix control. Very good simple product.

Cool concept. I would have loved it 10 years but sidechaining isn't really a problem that needs solving anymore.

I think it is perfectly necessary, at least to open our old-school eyes to how much love and attention to detail goes into today's productions.

Pick a shape, turn a knob, done. How does a compressor work?

Of course you can, but these kind of solutions (ans LFOTool) makes it FAR easier to dial in the exact setting very quickly (at least, IMO).

Well, just not yet.

I get massive cpu load\crackles after 10 or 15 second of inserting it (cubase 6.5.5. haven't tested on 7), had to remove it altogether.

There is.. it's a flaw with Ableton Live. But there are workarounds! So, in full:

Kickstart is synced to the timing information that is provided by the DAW. Live does not take PDC into account here and can provide wrong timing.

To fix Live, you can use Kickstart's oscilloscope to move the waveform to the left until timing matches again (use the arrow buttons below the waveform).

Or set up a MIDI track which plays a note at the beginning of a bar, route this track to Kickstart and set Kickstart to "Retriggered" mode. This resulted in correct timing in all our tests.

Same for VolumeShaper of course..

LFOtool is a better solution for me as it offers a lot more possibility for not a lot more money.

This is branded noob fodder imo.
