Thank you so much for sharing! Small addendum: Kickstart is AU (Audio Units) too!

Kickstart and VolumeShaper do not have any latency. The problem with Ableton Live is, that if there are some other plugins that add latency, Ableton Live gets the timing information wrong. So it tells us "we are now at position 4.5.6:777" while we are in reality at 4.5.6:888 - and there is nothing we can do, and no other plugin can - only chance is to bug Ableton about the issue. I've heard rumors that they might fix it with the latest Live 9.1 which is in beta now, but I haven't tested it yet.

But at least there are workarounds: By moving the wave or by using Kickstart's / VolumeShaper's "Retriggered" modes.

VolumeShaper allows you to edit your own waves, and has more LFO speed and sync options, while Kickstart's interface is streamlined and has good presets by Nicky Romero.

Quite some VolumeShaper users purchased Kickstart too and some mailed us that they prefer Kickstart for quick effective sidechain / ducking setup.

I think the important difference for me is the simple mix knob. I asked for this on VS3 and I heard it was implemented but I've not seen it.

To be quite honest there is side-chaining and then there is side-chaining. In a lot of dance music now this is a big feature and the slight variation can make a nice difference overall & not every compressor will give the same curves and their knobs interact in a way that doesn't always give a predictable result. Volume shapers let you see the curve and very easily adjust visually. That's why I use them sometimes instead of compressors. Then there is the whole vst 2.4 side-chaining in Cubase circus.

I prefer this now to vs3 & Vengeance MB just because it's quicker and Vengeance seems to need a little more CPU.

No latency on any 3 of them btw according to Cubase.

Finally how do I we add this to the product database for reviews?

LFOtool has a mix knob, infinately variable curves AND swing

So there.

I have Volume Shaper 2, so I don't need this?

Or does it make me sound like Nicky Romero? :P

I don't think that it's a substitution for side-chaining with a compressor. Volume Shaper and Kickstart should better be used to make the sound more dynamically, nevertheless you still need sidechaining for ducking an other track.

Jakob, are you not afraid that People rather grab this instead of VolumeShaper?

I must admit I was a bit in the beginning, but now we see that quite some people get both. Plus we get tons of great feedback.

I bought this one today and I simply love it. Amazing plug in. Thanks for this. I Hope developers would make more good and cheap plugins. Anyway, sometimes I get nasty click sound when you sidechain, so FR. Can you make "smooth" knob, like lfotool has. It would help us to get rid of that click. Secondly, this plugin, like your all others, steal space bar from host, so if you could fix that too it would be nice. Thanks.

How should we test ? record the resulting waveform and check for the latency ?
Loaded in VSTPlugin Analyser, VST2/32bit version.
Shows -> Initial Delay: 0 (samples)

I'd say that's latency free.

Say I put this on my bass track, what exactly does the mix knob do?
