IF Bitwig has PDC working flawlessly with Propellerheads Reason I will most likely be jumping ship and postponing all further Ableton purchases.

Until then I am going to be waiting to upgrade to Live 9 suite.
How can pdc work with reason when bitwig doesn't support rewire? Just curious
:-o I just realized it has no rewire!!

Damn, ah well.

Yep. I kind of thought that a bit strange when I first read it, but was going to consider Bitwig anyway. I think it still played on my mind when I was getting to the point of buying the full version of Live rather than wait for the unknown date of release and it certainly helped me pull the trigger on it.

I know that Jack is touted as a replacement for ReWire, but from what I have read here and elsewhere, it doesn't seem to be something that covers the same ground as ReWire and is particularly problematic on Windows. That may have changed since I read that, but I don't see Jack mentioned that much on KVR, so I'm assuming that it's still not really a contender, even if it might be one day in the future.

FLStudio running as a VSTI? :hihi:

Just joking... kinda. I personally don't like using rewire at all, even though I do fully understand it's value and it's purpose for others. It's really good to have for sure.

But rewire support in S1 is disabled here. I never use it. But then again, I don't own Reason or anything else that might need it so... if I did I might.

however, it mentions briefly something about midi.. i am wondering if that means the hosts can be synced with mtc. Not sure tbh but rewire is definitely very simple and currently works, well on mac and windows. Jack's website touting rewire's 64 output limit as a fail, whereas i think that's more than enough.

I just can't see ANY real replacement for rewire, you simply start a host then the other and they are synced.. that's it.. I don't understand what could be easier.

It is quite more powerful than that you can route anything anywhere and back again, and your host dont even need to support it.

You just need to install it and start it before your daw (I dont remember if on windows it start automatically)

Anything Rewire does jack does better and more, even if your host dont want.

See some stuff

Very easy to try  .

I only want it to be real and be released to keep ableton honest and hope it means ableton will fix pdc. When that happens I could not give a toss about the wigs, sorry but that's just how I feel now.. We are not disrespectful, they are the ones who are, having an unchanged website with the words coming soon for two years. I don't even believe they are in beta. What, NO one from kvr got picked? Lol. They are jokers and deserve to be treated as such and not taken seriously. How can they be? The only thing that will upset me if they don't release it is that ableton won't be motivated to fix pdc then. Which I guess is not the biggest compliment for ableton either but better the devil you know.

They need to do a statement stat with damage control. Let us know the reality of where it's at. Honestly their communication or lack thereof is so disgusting that if they don't say something soon I really couldn't even care less if they go belly up. You reap what you sow. I think they are quite nuts, tbh.
I totally agree. People defend them saying "oh they must be too busy to reply" etc, but lets be honest, it would only take a member of staff a few minutes to let us know what's going on.

I've seen tons of people asking for news of a release date on Facebook, they just totally ignore them! To be honest, that's not the sort of company I want to support.

As you say though, it seems that Ableton have taken notice and may finally fix the annoying PDC issue. I know Ableton pretty well, and if this issue is sorted before the Bitwig release date, then I'll have little reason to switch DAWs.

The arrogance is a bit much. But then again, I've come to expect that from many companies. They either make a great product and you bend over or you live w/o.

If the product ends up being good, then all of this won't matter because people will buy it anyways, round robin back to the arrogance and we start all over.

I agree for the social media, but you can't expect them to comment here in threads smothered in cat pics. You indeed do reap what you sow.

There was a brief moment of calm a while ago and one of the devs did show up and post in a thread that had not become clogged with fur. After that it fell apart again and that was that. Moderation has been pretty much absent on this particular topic, which, if that's the way it's going to be, is the way it's going to be, but then you certainly can't complain you're not getting any special exclusive scoop here from the devs.

Besides, people should ease up on the entitlement. It's software. Yes, they clearly screwed up their marketing and own predictions, but you'd think somebody stole Christmas. Chill. Make music. And when it does come out, if it does, give it a whirl. Or don't. Who the hell cares.

the level of delusional entitlement on display here is... quite normal for these posters.

Cat pics? The speculation? The friendly banter? The not so friendly banter? Hope that someday there will actually be a product or some news? Or could it be SATAN!?

Yeah, how dare we expect an answer to a legitimate question! I mean, we're taking the piss really, expecting Bitwig to treat their potential customers like humans.
