The only rationale I can come up with to explain the mean spirited animosity that keeps cropping up in various Bitwig forum threads around the web is... impatient people with an inflated sense of entitlement who've been holding off buying Ableton Live 9 in the hope that Bitwig will be the new DAW of their dreams. They've crossed over into taking it personally, which totally bewilders me. I get folks wanting to take the piss out of any vulnerable web target they can find, but pretty often "jokes" are just euphemisms for veiled insults. I will say this though, Bitwig threads are at least a lot more civilized than YouTube comments. It's all relative.trimph1 wrote:

No, but it'd be nice. I'd clean up this place!trimph1 wrote: And so?

Edited for political sensitivity.

It seems most of screen recordrs arent jack compatible (just like it needs to be ASIO), that is, without some hacking.pc999 wrote:
Actually that was the first video I found using windows![]()
Give me a few minutes and I will show you how it is done on Linux (I think it is almost equal if not equal, I never used it on windows, nor I have it instaled).
I may see again if there is any free ASIO screen recorder...
Anyway it is really easy, just try it will probably take less time than that video.
IT WILL WORK WITH ANY ASIO HOST.
They give all the feedback, constantly (although not daily) on their facebook page.TheoM wrote:PS i wonder if anyone here would NOT welcome a bitwig person themselves to start a clean topic, and inform us of real progress, and then honour a request to stop the trolling at their expense. I bet you it would stop in a heartbeat too and all topics such as this would be locked. I am sure even the mods let it go on cause they themselves must wonder "is it really ever coming" ?
But why would they post anything else on a forum where they are constantly joked about, even if they gave only straight answers, for good or for bad, without creating false expectations.
They even did came to KVR it a few times on a civil thread, then jokes and cats, again.
You ask why, well you are one of the reasons why they don't come here, at least not now and not anymore.[/quote]

Maybe it's just a debate over semantics, but for me entitlement implies something owed. Even if the entire Bitwig project was pure marketing fabrication and all a lie, as far as I'm concerned they wouldn't even owe me an apology. I don't disagree with the legitimate criticisms over announcing products too early in their development cycle, but I have no emotional or financial stake in a product that doesn't even exist in the market yet.TheoM wrote:Tronam, you said "The only rationale I can come up with to explain the mean spirited animosity that keeps cropping up in various Bitwig forum threads around the web is... impatient people with an inflated sense of entitlement who've been holding off buying Ableton Live 9 in the hope that Bitwig will be the new DAW of their dreams. You have no idea how spot on that actually is.. you have nailed it for the majority of the angry ones, i promise you.
PS edit.. i agree with every word but inflated.. entitlement is fine.. we are the ones with the money to buy and keep them in business.. to think it's inflated entitlement however is really weird.. it only became that way cause they are hopeless communicators and haven't done a thing to create their own positivity since the flaming started.
