This is true if you run a 64 bit OS.DuX wrote:What's a bit funny is that *Win 32* version should install into the *Program Files (x86)* folder.
Surely you meant *Win 64* version? That should install into the "Program Files" folder.
It's most probably Win7 x64.
32 bit Windows does not have a x86 version of Program Files.
The 32 bit version of Spire ideally should detect 32/64 bit OS and suffix the (x86) only on 64 bit OS.
( heck if your at it detecting OS make one installer for all versions with a selection menu
Or another easier way: just provide a zip with the DLL files.

Windows 7 64 bit and yes, I tried to change the path.sound_dev wrote:Which OS ? Did you try to change path during installation process?mothergarage wrote:Thanks for the updates, but the Win 32 version still installs to "Program Files (x86)", no matter what.

That is the correct behavior for a 32bit plug on a 64bit os.mothergarage wrote:Windows 7 64 bit and yes, I tried to change the path.sound_dev wrote:Which OS ? A couple of updates ago the installer also looks at the regkey "HKCU\Software\VST\VSTPluginsPath" so maybe you can use that to force a specific location.

wow... this is serious? So this mean you have to remember what MIDI control exactly was mapped... to be able to unmap it? This can't be true?!Muziksculp wrote: Midi unlearn - turn MIDI button on, tap control on external MIDI controller to be unlinked.
Why can't you simply "unlearn" all controls?
I understand that some people need to be able to do that (unmap things precisely), but on my side, I am a basic user: I only assign one control to one button...
so I don't see why I should have to move the button to unlink it...
but well, it is there, and yes, it was soooo badly needed !

I have seen people posting requests, I would have one:
if we could donwload a "non installer" version, that would be soo cool...
There is a msi here, and it only unpacks the dll... I would rather have the dll directly accessible...
If the msi installed the banks, then ok it would be cool, but it is not the case, you still have to copy them by hand.

......
there is a midi_learn.blk file or something like that.
on mac I think it is in application support/reveal sound in either ~/library or the general library
and on PC I think it is in app data roaming reveal sound (hidden)
just dump the midi_learn.blk file and it unlearns everything.

Ok, I just downloaded v1.06, and read the manual...
So, the learn is associated to a button, while the unlearn is associated to a midi control. Once you've understood that, it is ok. It just means that you really have to remember which control you've associated to the button.
I also noticed, you can associate two controls to one button, but the opposite is false (you cannot control two buttons with only one control - so if you wanted to use one slider, or the modwheel, to control both OSC1 and OSC2 volume, you can't).
But the BIG problem is... the midi learn thing is global, it is not associated to a preset, making it simply unusable for me... What a strange choice...

Ok, so I didn't understand how the preset system works.
Now, if you load a bank and then change a preset and then go to a different preset and then go back to the previous preset you changed, then the preset in memory still seems to have those changes and not the original parameters that the preset had in the bank.
This is a bit unusual?

Not sure why you need the preset names. But I found out that you can restore the preset to the original saved state(?) by using the menu restore preset command.sound_dev wrote:Could you post preset names here?jk-cream2 wrote:Ok, so I didn't understand how the preset system works.

Still, I assumed that changing a preset and navigating to anther preset and then back to the original preset would restore the preset to the orignal starting preset state. Maybe something to be aware of?

I have seen such behaviour on many synths to be honest. The idea being that you are working on a "bank" and you can go through sounds, make the changes necessary, add new presets and save the entire bank in a new state. Otherwise, one would hove to save the entire bank each time a preset was either modified or added.jk-cream2 wrote:Not sure why you need the preset names. But ultimately, the Reveal Sound guys may be able to explain this better than me

I liked this feature about the Rob Papen synths... hopefully the new patch management will be easy to use and very handy
A+ for these developers.
also a +1 from me regarding having pitch values displaying cents/semitones in the modulation slots etc. It would be good to be able to quickly jump to an accurate value for Oscillators/LFOs etc... this 0-1000 scale is a tad vague... some Hz values for Oscs/LFOs/Filters would also be great!!
Oh, and Hz MASTER TUNING PLEASE!!!!!!!

Init Bank problem.
Performing a restore command:
the init bank keep recalling the init preset even i saved my own new presets and saved the whole bank with another name many times.
After saving a new bank it should remeber the saved presets and not the original init preset.
I have to keep loading my saved single presets one by one, after some minor tweakings.
@ sound_dev: Please make a useful, rewritable init bank! Thanks.
Even better would be a new preset management system. Can we count on this
in the near future?
