But wait, you can't have more than 5 toms? That MIGHT be a bummer, and that is not a sarcastic remark like the above one.

ONLY five snares. What a bummer.

ok, I got carried away ...Burillo wrote:2) technically, they aren't unlimitedmaximum 64 kit pieces, with maximum of 5 per each kit piece type (e.g. you can only have 5 snares max).
but it's still great!
But, you can now have a two strainers on and two strainers off snares + a brush snare. That makes track management and drum mapping soooo much faster and easier rather than trying to do edits across instances. That's just one example.

Ah, good. Burillo said "max of 5 per each kit piece type"... So that was confusing.

EvilDragon, *each* kit piece type
that means, 5 floor toms, 5 mid toms, 5 hi toms... you get the point
...and, i think you can load any drums into any slots as well - e.g. load a tom into a snare slot. at least, BFD2 could do that - not sure about BFD3, but i'd be surprised if it couldn't!

Oh haha.
They're all "toms", overall.

kit.find ('toms').replace ('moar cowbell')
That's better!

Yeah we have "toms" but then we break them down into sub classes for easier finding; floor, mid, high. And yes, you can load any drum type into any slot, but it isn't really necessary to do so these days as we've streamlined the whole way that slots work. We've killed arbitrary kit sizes too, so you just click+drag the kitpieces you want in the kit, and BFD3 takes care of the rest.

How does that work? Does BFD2 need to be installed in order for the BFD3 "upgrade" verison to install?Gribs wrote:I don't know if you guys have AudioDeluxe accounts, but the price there for the BFD3 upgrade is $149 plus they have a 15% off launch special coupon code FX15.

@grdh20 No - it works through our online account system, if you have a BFD2 serial number registered on your account you can use the BFD3 upgrade.
Although, if you do have BFD2 installed, you can use all its kits in BFD3. So unless you desperately need that 55GB of disk space back, best to keep it on board.

not too stable TBH. i've had like ten crashes for an hour of usage. it depends on what you do though. once you close the window and let it play, it'll work. it may crash when you're messing around though, especially when it comes to dealing with non-BFD3 stuff.

hmm, wonder if that is host specific. I haven't had a crash, other than importing some really old presets, since RC's started a couple of weeks ago. I only use the x64 version stand alone and in Cubase.

Please give me some more information.Burillo wrote:not too stable TBH. i've had like ten crashes for an hour of usage. it depends on what you do though. once you close the window and let it play, it'll work. it may crash when you're messing around though, especially when it comes to dealing with non-BFD3 stuff.
Host, soundcard, sample-rate, buffer size, memory usage at the time of the crash, other plugins you were using, what drums you had loaded, preset, etc...
