Maybe for the 'Lite' version. :hihi:

There will be only one version, and I never seen a DAW with a single version above that price (beside "Pro"Tools).

Farewell to fun bitwig threads over the last two years, and on with serious bitwiggery........It's been fun, please allow one last cat pic!

You mean to include their direct competitor too, right? Live standard is $449. It's actually cheaper now than when I first purchased it.

Hey does anybody know if Bitwig Studio has SysEx capabilities?
My guess is it doesn't, but as someone with a few hardware synths that do SysEx I would seriously think of switching to BWS if it did. As it stands I write in Digital Performer and transfer to Live for performances.

I think honorary cat pics are an obligatory inclusion even upon eventual release.

I still hold out hope that Bitwig will actually adopt an official cat!

A Cat Mascot.

This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

Me too.

Let's call her "Bitwiggle" - she can be modulated in many ways (stroke the back to create a purr, squeeze the tail to receive a hiss and red stripes in your face...) and she's noted for her soulful singing with companions out at night...

Too bad I didn't create that in Bitwig, would be a nice themesong... ;-)

Cheers,

Tom

 The kitty has been tranquilized... although....

I do expect the cats to revist us after release when the monumentally epic "versus" threads start going. i'm currently looking for a pic of a cat in a referree shirt in anticipation. :hihi:

Bitwig vs. Ableton = Catfight. :)

Joking mate, i honestly have no idea but i think if it's on a par with Live 9 it will cost $3-400.

Yes, you have the Lite version at 99$(?) and many more bundled.

In products that you dont a have a standard and a lite and/or premium/suite offer, all of them are less than 200$ (from Logic, to Renoise, to Mixcraft, including Reaper or Tracktion).

Anyway more than that and it is really above what I can speed (even at that price ... well lets just say austerity kill no bankers...)

BTW is it 449$, last saw it is 350€ IIRC, a company that does not do direct conversion, that is quite rare to see, and a plus for Ableton.

Finally we get to see and read more infos! Bye bye cats. Next couple of months are going to be interesting, just right before Christmas. Synths in development and about to be released soon, PS4, BITWIG!
$449 for BW is a tough price - asking for that kind of money it needs to be at minimum like Live (or any other established DAW). Obviously it's a modular Lego monster but what about stability, mixer, routing, sampler, time stretch and most importantly CPU use? Guess time will tell.
