hi guyz. I have an issue and would like some input on the matter. I wanted to test out ivgi, sort of like a demo for sdrr. Now, I loaded up two instances of ivgi in the xlutop chainer and closed the project. upon reopening, I saw something different in the vst analyzer. I am attaching 2 pics for you to have a look.

Can anyone explain why there is this curvy behaviour upon project reload? I am assuming the same behaviour is also present in sdrr !

regards,

regards,
my guess is, that the chainer doesn't report the correct latency upon project reload. IVGI has a fixed latency of 6 samples.
the second pic looks definitely wrong and suggests phase issues because of latency flaws.

hi tony,

thankyou for your reply. I have now checked this behaviour with another chainer (acon effect chainer) and same thing happens. I have also changed the latency settings manually and still the same. if i bypass and then enable one instance of ivgi, the problem disappears and everything becomes normal again.
Also, it only happens when i load up more than 1 instance. If only 1 instance is present, this issue does not manifest itself.

can you plz check this issue out? Is this also present in sdrr?
Can anyone else comfirm?

regards,

Hi Sunny,

I've just checked this with two instances of IVGI and then two instances of SDRR in Reaper with a sine and SPAN.
Both show a similar behavior as you've reported, BUT as soon as I hit play everything's correct.
Also this is ONLY affecting the noise floor of the plugin. I also checked the overall frequency and phase response of this setup. And everything was correct on project reload. So it's really just the noise it seems.
I also did a rendering test, meaning, Reloaded the saved project and hit render -> the result was perfectly fine. I'll investigate this further, though. But frankly I can't think of a situation where this could be a problem, since this is gone as soon as you hit play or you render or you bypass/unbypass the plugin and again, it seems to be just the noise floor.

when in doubt, please send me an email. It's far easier to handle support via email

I got it this morning. First I'll say I've never liked DC8C or DC8C2 and I've really tried to like them. I was so, so about IVGI (please come up with easier to remember names in the future!)

But this is fantastic. One of the most interesting and good sounding plug-ins I've come across and so far I've only used some mastering presets.

Great sounding EQ section and the distortion sounds very promising so far!

Very happy to have taken the chance.

I see today that it is a cpu hog indeed. But it sounds great on some many sources. I liked it on vocal too.

Well in my opinion you can't compare SDRR and Saturn. I tried Saturn some months ago and now that I own SDRR all I can say is that to me it's not aimed in the same direction. I would love to have Saturn for creative distortion purposes but I would mainly aim my SDRR at coloring and polishing/exciting some cold/shallow sources. There's also some great distortion mangling to create with SDRR...

SDRR is infinitely more verstaile, does not distrort that easily (and when it distorts, it does it much nicer) and sounds much better.

I don't have Saturn, but people say that it has completelly different flavour.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

well i jumped on this and have just bought it

Just use less extreme settings on saturation knob to not get any distortion.
