I'm not sure. I'm eagerly waiting for a complete list of improvements.

Neon City for u-he Repro - 80s pop & Synthwave soundbank
HARDWARE SAMPLER FANATIC - Akai S1100/S950/Z8 - Casio FZ20m - Emu Emax I - Ensoniq ASR10/EPS

Can someone explain what PDC is?

Plugin delay compensation.
It compensates for plugins that introduces a certain amount of delay (time for calculation), like some reverbs for example.
Soundsets and presets for Absynth.
Sounds and presets for UVI Falcon "Iterata X".
Bazille soundset - Crystalline Textures 3.

Whatever.....
No question, okay.......

Fwiw a drum synth has been requested for maschine from a couple of years back and Ni hinted it was coming a few months ago.
It's been requested for Battery since version 1.
Has NI said they'll add one? I didn't know it was requested for Batts, i haven't used that since about v2. I always thought it was the ultimate drum sampler.

I'm sure they will come as a future update of Battery. That + bigger library = 99 euros. Nah - now I'm being cynical :)

Really need to know that, be weird if they haven't with the new mixer and unlimited slots; how you gonna mix those kontakt drum kits?! Must surely be part of the rewrite!

Also worth noting is that logically this introduces latency which is a no-no for those (like me) who uses Maschine live.
Having it as an option to turn on/off would of course serve both those who uses it as/in a DAW and those who use it live.

Ah, so _now_ I know why NI had a recent Maschine + 6xExpansion Pack sale :)

Note to self: Whenever NI has a big sale, a product refresh is coming!

Post

yup, and im wondering how much of the 'larger 8gb content' is taken from the expansions.

People are complaining about the 99 euros but that's what NI does don't they; all their .0 updates are paid but i thought there would have been a 1.9 update although they said a rewrite was necessary to implement all the stuff people were asking for. Cynical and underhanded i dunno, maybe but this is a huge update and i for one am well excited! :D

Do you still use Maschine?

Yeah - if they really have included everything that people were asking for then I'm all cool with 99 euros. But so far I've only heard about MIDI import and multicore support.

I don't use Maschine that much to be honest. I load it up occasionally when I want to port my sounds to Maschine - but I really never feel too comfortable in that environment. Partly due to the workflow - but I'm always getting annoyed by small details and the fact that it lacks something so damned basic as round robin is beyond me. I mean - it's just cycling between a number of samples! And realtime timestretch that's not rocket science either. They got a bunch of algos in Kontakt already, so... so far I've been scratching my head regarding the development of Maschine and wondering why they are dragging their feet. I mean - NI already have the algos and techniques to make Maschine absolutely awesome. They had it already when Maschine was born. Multicore processors - PDC - timestretch - all those things where pretty common even back then. So honestly - I'm not sure why NI is dragging their feet.

But just by looking at the UI - I'm interested. And if the rewrite includes all the stuff users have been moaning about for years - my 99 euros is theirs.

I hear ya, definitely hope they've addressed it in 2.0! The cdm hands on review gives a pretty good overview of the new stuff with a review coming soon: http://createdigitalmusic.com/2013/10/v ... -hardware/

I've read sampling improvements but i don't know what they are. Yeah so much potential there but it looks like they've realized a lot of it in the update. :)

Roll on November!

I have no problem with the 99 bucks. Again, I seriously doubt that a 2.0 release is going to be w/o it's problems.

Yeah it'd be great to be able to run 1.8 concurrently, surprised they didn't have a public beta what wiv all the mk1 and mk2 owners. :?
