I guess with Reason 7 out, they are busier than ever.

this is my most anticipated synth really. Dune is really easy to get results from, all I really want is to add legit wave scanning oscillators.

With Spire and ongoing Helix 64 bit update Dune 2 will have tough competition (especially given that Dune CM may be had basically for free)

Is release still planned for Q4?

Dune is one of the few softsynths that still interest me, but I am wondering if one of its main advantages - delivering very good (though not the best possible) sound quality while using relatively little CPU - will not be lost when they include 0df filters and all that modern stuff. Basically, if v2 uses more CPU than v1, I can forget about it.

I'm also wondering about the pricing. Will it be cheaper to get v1 now and then the update, or to get v2 right away when it is released? Since I assume presets will not be compatible, I am not really interested in v1 as such.

Is Dune 2 ever going to happen? Synapse seem to be focused mainly on rack extensions now, while the current Dune is given away for free only with effects disabled.

I hope they will not give away v2 as magware. When you invested 140+ euros in a plugin, you feel like you are being made fun of...
Quality software will sell at a reasonable price as well. No need for cheap marketing tricks and pissing people off.

Yes, the Beat edition is just minus the effects, it is a superb give away, so good that paying for the full version seems steep given the small feature difference. Maybe its a plan to get loads of people interested in V2, so it may pay off in the long run.

Im wondering the same thing... EVEN more I am waiting for an upgrade to ORION for what seems like two years now.. still on 8.5 and waiting and waiting.. Any news on this?
