What I don't know with the software is if they improved anything with the integration with other hosts as a vst. Though maschine works in both of my hosts (live/studio one)it's a bit of a PITA to set up. I'd really like to see something more streamlined where you can launch maschine as a straight vst w/o the hoops.

Yeah it'd be great to be able to run 1.8 concurrently, surprised they didn't have a public beta what wiv all the mk1 and mk2 owners. :?

Or maybe they have a competent beta team who have mk1 and mk2's both mikro and the full ones ;)...but yes no beta team can ever find all the bugs.....

since Kontakt 5,4, and 3 run concurrently. As does Battery 4 and 3, as does Guitar Rig 5,4,3 etc.....I think it is a safe bet that maschine 1 and 2 can run concurrently.

NI, I really love you right now.
Thanks for not forgetting all us v1 users.

You're probably right, I was simply saying that it's customary for a .0 release to have a couple of show stoppers that slip through the cracks.

I'm optimistic about the software, I just don't know if getting it day one is going to work.

For me it would work great if it was a vst3. so I can assign more than 16 channels to it.....

but what did you mean by above?
like how?

Interview w/ dubspot's Matt Celliti about Maschine 2.0 and Studio:
http://blog.dubspot.com/native-instrume ... -cellitti/

"Multi-core support and the 32-bit float internal summing has been the best thing so far. I instantly loaded up some Maschine 1.8 projects that had completely maxed out my cpu resources and they barely even dent the cpu in Maschine 2."

"The drum synthesizer is awesome. You don't realize how wide of a range of sounds you can get from it until you start experimenting. I think most people will read about the drum synth models and just assume they can make 808 and 909 sounds but its much deeper than that. I find that it is more fun to create the drum sounds with these tools than it is to spend all day searching for samples on your hard drive. Also very helpful for layering drums. For instance, if you need a snappy top-end to a fat, low kick sample, I find it has been easier to pull up a drum synth and just create the layer so you can really shape it for your needs."

I'm liking what I hear. :tu:

All i can say is i can't wait, love working in maschine but the getting tracks into a host can be a pita.

In live, afaik, you have to load maschine, load a midi track, go into maschine, set the dohicky to be able to receive midi notes, set the two channels to feed off each other......WHEW! I mean, I have a saved setting for live but I still have to go into maschine and set it up. I'd love to have it to where you can just have it on an instrument track and use the controller.

That's huge for me. I hope they gave the song mode a good revision. I've always found Maschine great for coming up with quick beats but awkward for song composition.

You must not do any sound design with various synths...
I do but I am not sure what that has to do with anything I said or why you made such a weird assumption.
If you are considering going all Maschine and not using a computer DAW, how would you do sound design on your synths?
I have Komplete so I can make patches on Massive, FM 8, Reaktor, or the slew of other vst synths that I use. Maschine does host vsts and I could also use hard synths with it if I wanted to. For me Maschine gives me that Mpc style workflow that I missed with the power of a computer but its software lacked the power to do what I really wanted it to do. This will fix that problem. Also I am more of a hip hop guy than a synth music guy though I do play with House some.
I got confused... I heard someone say that the new studio had an audio interface and could be run standalone. Turns out that is not true, but somehow I thought you meant computer screen free not just DAW free. Of course, even if it could be run standalone, that doesn't mean you had to... Anyway, back to the discussion...
I understand you don't have to run maschine alone that's just how i want to do it. I have Live 9 Reason 6.5 and Sonar X1 as well but would rather use Maschine alone w/ my plug ins.

fluxmind wrote:Hosting Vsts without PDC in many cases is useless. Yes Maschine is a great creative tool, but all that new mixer, routing doesn't make sense without PDC, unless it's aimed at morons producing garbage like you hear on beatport and the likes.
Yes, it's aimed at morons(sheep), there's no question here, but still it's a great creative tool which would highly benefit from PDC and would attract more people, because it's much more fun to make something in Maschine, than in usual established archaic ways.
Whatever.....
lmfao you sound very closed minded and biter. People are morons because we like a tool? I have been using Maschine since February and have not had a need for PDC at all. I haven't even thought about it.

Yeah i have to do that in S1 bit in FL i'd have to create a midi out for each track so i route the outs to mixer channels instead but i don't know how to export a mix from maschine with parallel processing etc so i have to add those effects in my daw. Now wit hthe mixer looks like it'll be possible to mix more ITMTM and arrange with the new timeline. :)
