I don't have Dune. Will the patches sound any different in the BE version.
I have one of the FM 8 sets. I want the other one and the new semv set.

Since I too do not have the full Dune, I cannot make a comparison. Dubstep bank loaded into Dune BE sounds very good even if it sounds a little different than when you use the full version, especially with deactivated effects. (Both CM and BE lack FX but the Beat Edition has a larger modulation matrix than CM.) I can't say about Duniverse because I am still playing through all the new Dubstep patches! Don't forget to use your mod wheel.

Here too I am amazed at how little CPU it is using. Adding effects shouldn't increase it all that much.

Hi Bill45,

Well patches will sound different without the FX section, and sometimes there are a lot of modulations ( I frequently abused the second page of the Matrix) so its very difficult to give a correct estimation on this.

See the post of Mr Tucker above for some hints about that. Dunesteps might be less dependant cos a lot of patches can be played mono in this very electronic bank. ( I assume that Dune BE and CM are mono iirc, else someone will correct me )

For Duniverse Basses, leads, some woodwinds ect shloud be ok, cos the soundesign is very neat in this bank. Keys however I'm not so rue as they re mainly intented to be played with chords, eception of the couple of clavinets 'a la Stevie' included.

So well I dont know. Its certainly worth it for someone who intends to get DUNE full version one day or another ( or if this soundbank has modified at least a little the POV one had of DUNE before ), and for someone who want to stay with the BE CM version it really depends of what kind of patches you're after.

Very CPU efficient !! I could play the "modern demo" live with a minor cpu print.

I also nabbed the free Twin2 set which is great, any plans to expand this into a full library?

I am happy to report that Dune BE is not mono

Some beautiful chords and still low CPU usage.

Perhaps a free bank of ten or so of your sounds so that unbelieving Dune BE owners can hear what your patches can do?

Dune BE is apparently still available as part of the "Studio Starter Kit"

Synapse Audio Dune BE (Beat Edition)

Wow these are great news for all DUNE BE potential users ! Maybe I'll make a free subbank. I did some for the MS-20 and Polysix, and tbh, it did not change anything. Thousands of downloads and no more sales than the other soundbanks, including not a single simple 'thank you' from anyone, hence I'm a bit sceptical, but we'll see.

Thanks so much for the information Mr Tucker :tu: :tu:
