No ACP yet... decided to get midi working first. But it doesn't seem too hard. What kind of functionality do you think most people are looking for? First I'll make it so audio can be pasted into the sampler... maybe loaded from Dropbox, etc. It will load any wav so any method of getting a wav into the apps sandbox will work. Maybe copy whole beats to paste into another app?
Whole beats would be nice....intua pasteboard and general pasteboard....faster response time on pads, they seemed to lag just a little (no one-handed triplets )

You can improve the response time on the pads by pressing the settings button and putting the latency to medium or low in the settings menu. It's set to high at first... just in case the user has a dozen apps open or something.

just bought it, super cool so far. id love a little 16 pad midi drum pad to use with this. i really dont want to buy mpc fly, and this does most of what i need. i wish the korg nano pads were square instead of rectangle. lol.

Post

Thanks for the feedback! I've been using it with my MPC1000, kinda pointless but it's all I have with pads lol. Should work with the MPC fly when it comes out. Right now it defaults to GM note numbers but in the next minor update I'll make it so each pad can be assigned whatever note number you want. Midi channel also defaults to channel 10 for drums, but I supposed it would be useful to make that selectable also.

I like the mpc aesthetic. I think maybe ill end up getting a quneo.

guess i would buy it in a second if it has Midi sync.Currently it could not suck me away from the Drumsampler in beatmaker which is great imo.But maybe i'll buy it anyway to support it and wait what future updates will bring to us...how many pad banks do you have?is there a manual somewhere?

Post

MIDI is notoriously hard to implement, but I'm working on it! Currently there is only one pad bank of 16 sounds. Only 16 can be loaded at once because RAM is limited on most iDevices and it seemed to make the app more stable. But I see that other apps simply load all samples at once so they can be switched on the fly, so I'd like to implement that. Then there could be many pad banks of loaded sounds. I'm also writing an online HTML manual, but I've been surprised by how many people have picked it up and figured out how to use it!

Bought it! Haven't had a play really yet but at first glance it looks nice and well thought out.. Look forward to some free time to explore it.

Just a quick update, I made this video demoing a Kanye beat using 16 Levels:

I've also added audiocopy / paste but apple is still reviewing it! Should be out soon :!:

Don't know if this was the intended behavior, but I get no sound from pads until I enable background audio. Also you mentioned earlier in the thread loading more kits in RAM to speed load times. Are you sure this is where it is lagging on loads? I noticed that iMPC has a tone of samples and kits put together and loads very fast. Were you talking about it loading slower because it is dumping memory first then loading as opposed to just loading? I have been playing with it a little and noticed these offhand first, but I'll post more if I see it.

Hi Derek,do you have any plans for virtual midi and audiobus?I'm still waiting for the first drumsampler with this feature.Such a shame there are so many good synths but no drumsampler yet :)

Not talking about sync, would be enough for me to play the pads via Cubasis for example.Thats what i'm looking for...

Post

does this drum machine have MIDI Sync capabilities ?

Post

No it doesn't.

Post

Sorry but have to ask for audiobus again ;-)

it still lacks a good drumsampler with audiobus and i'm sure it would have a massive impact on your sales. The iMPC doesn't seem to get it anytime soon.

Hi just bought the beatmachine app and I was really impressed by the features!
I think for the money it's the best app I've bought (and it worths much more).
The audiobus, full midi &sync support and low latency is a huge plus!Nice sound set too!
Some thoughts I'd like to share after a quick test.
I'd like to see a note-repeat button ,more filters with more resonance, and an xy pad mode for the effects...
Forgot to add a wish for the apple's interapp audio feature(also nice to see jack support, although currently jack is not working in ios7)
By the way ,congratulations for this wonderful app!
( More comments to come after the weekend!)
