Actually I'm not, I'm old and wear glasses. ;)

That's a point to consider though, with corrective lenses I can see just as well as I always have. If you are struggling to see things on your 26" screen with 175% magnification you sound like you either need glasses or, if you already have them, then you probably need to be retested for new lenses.

Some quick demo BONG beat with a bass arpeggiator in the background just to give it a little bit "moar funk" :).

All drumsounds 100% BONG and slightly processed only on drum & masterbus (compression, eq, gate, limiter but nothing "sound distorting"). I hope it translates well on your setup.

Enjoy it! :)

Just let you people know that I wrote a short review about it in the KVR review section.

I tried to keep it more moderate so it's not an in-depth one but more consumer orientated. I decided to do it that way because I find BONG so easy and intuitive to use (compared to some of your other products :) ) that even beginners will get really stunning drum sounds in nearly no time.

Hey Xoxos !
Maybe it has already been asked but is there any chance to see 64bit version of your plugs ?

Post

And because I was bored today I made another quick House Beat. Will use it in some of my later projects. Perhaps a little bit too much bass (discovered too late that my amp settings were wrong, sry for that). Hope you enjoy it. And would be cool if some of you would post some examples too. I am interested in your visison of BONG. :)

Btw I disovered that putting an instance of bootsies Rescue MK2 @ -18dbFS RMS transient designer on the drumbus while gainstaged everything to -18dBFS RMS sounds kickass. Gives the whole drumsound a nice finish. :)

Nice unit.

:hihi: i may have to borrow this for the product ad.. :hihi:

not to praise myself, all values are relative.. those hats are definately in the "like no hat i've heard before" territory i was anticipating these algs turning up sometime.. (hats in the earlier one were familiar but well on point) - thanks for the demos :)

64 bit - keeping up with steinberg is an expensive thing.

Tbh I was pretty excited about that timbre too. Pretty 70s chase style. Until BONG I really missed the workflow of my beloved REDRUM from Propellerheads Reason. I think I can mention this product here because it's not a real competitor.

Though Redrum needs samples and has an inbuilt sequencer it was all about the carefully selected velocity options: tone, pitch, amp, sample-start etc. And Bong behaves nearly the same when I program my beats on it. And I always used the same custom build drum kits so switching to a predefined setup but with kick ass algorithms was not that hard for me.

I have all velocity knobs set down to zero. But I program my beats with three different velocity layers (eg 40, 80, 120 aka weak, medium, strong). They still sound the same. I lay down my groove until things sound fine. Perhaps some 6x% MPC swing thingy on top of it. Done.

But as soon as I start to move those tiny knobs everything starts to shine and breath. Most of the time only a slight amount brings so much variation. After that starts the fine tuning part. Perhaps some gate and compression on drumbus in the end and that's it.

Sound from BONG does not need that much post-processing.

so, since ppl seem to like bong, what can i do to make it so that the same dozen ppl aren't the only ones using and talking about it?

a patch contest maybe.

Realese another update so it appears on the front news section, I wouldnt mind the option to choose the midi note trigger for each drum.

Some things that you can try:

- make it ridiculous expensive. Believe me, in a few days there will be threads all over the net with stuff like "I would have bought that if it would cost only 50 bucks. But 150? Dude, that's way too expensive...lol, rofl, need to like something on fb, bye"

- a 3D interface. People love fancy stuff. It's not about the sound. It's about "how cool it looks in Ableton next to the cracked Sylenth1 synth when someone is playing in a club"...

- bugs...make it buggy as hell. This can be combined with some wiered copy protection which freezes your computer randomly (or if random is not cool enough probability could work too)..

If that should not work because you already thought about that and realized lots of other companies are doing this already:

- youtube videos...why not an uber dope xoxos channel? I mean you have so much awesome and unique stuff (dang, Modal & Radian are my goto perc synths when I need some "real sounds" and starcym for some hats and cymbals - both perfect for Dance Music like Deep House & Techno). You could make a nice mix between your free & payware and post some real world examples (perhaps in the production or mixing stage). Even some "I show you all demosounds and tell you something about it " would be cool too.

And as I already wrote you some months ago your stuff should be the s**t in the gaming modding scene. But obviously nobody is aware of it. Maybe some additional advertisment in gaming forums?

I think some of your devices need some further explanation. I had a hard time with some of them and I am not new to synthesis (BONG is an exception). But for me it's all about the fun and believe me, I have ton of fun with them. A cool idea would be videos or additional pdfs with also basic stuff for new people and more advanced stuff.

I am a regular in your forum and I know that you know your s**t. And if you know that eg some of the information on SOS are not correct why not make a own synthesis site? Or a blog?

And people should spread the word...
