Yes, I am reading these posts. You are right that it was not implemented. Not all planned features were added in V2 (I still have a long list). Priority of a request is based on the number of people requested that and whether they are customers.

Sounds like: "Tell me first, whether you are a customer, then I will eventually think about your request". Do you really get feature requests of non-customers? I was just wondering, since you promised to implement it. Never mind.
You are right, other things are more important. Most of all software stability. You really should make sure to test the software enough, before you release 2.3. And when you think, now you have tested enough, then start again with testing for one more month. Just ironing out bugs reported from users is definitifely not enough.

JFK - please chill, man. Attila is not like that at all. If people were more responsive to him regarding bug reports, instead of simply complaining (I'm not saying you're doing this, I'm saying a lot of people try it, have it crash, then give up... or, never really explain to him in detail why)... then, he can get the program much more stable. And for the record, 2.3 is WAY more stable than other releases previous.
I have gotten various builds of 2.3 and, while I've experienced a crash once or twice (HEAVILY using the program), it is much, much stable than any previous versions. I've also had Reaper crash on me more than once, and Cakewalk Sonar, and Pro Tools. I've also had Harmony Navigator lock up on me over 50 times in one week. Programs crash. That's just how it is. The only program I've never had crash, ever, is Reason 4.
If you could, explain in detail what you're doing to make your version of RC crash so much, and/or get a program like LiceCAP (freeware screen capture software) and record your mouse clicks and usage. That stuff helps tremendously!
Attila has worked out all of the bugs I pointed out to him because I record the screen, and he's able to work all that stuff out. Considering the mathematical complexity of the program (And believe me, it is ridiculous, the amount of programming that goes into something like this), yeah, it's going to crash here and there.
Again, please chill... getting angry at the programmer is not going to help you or him or any of us in any way. Being helpful and communicating with him directly (not just through KVR) is the way to go.
Thanks,
Chris

Wow, just wow.
Attila has been one of the most responsive devs I have ever run across. From what I have seen he appears to work around the clock trying to improve this software and getting features implemented as fast as possible.
I wonder when he ever has time to sleep or spend with his family.
Many of us have asked for new features. Most of us understand he gets to them as he gets to them.
He is, after all, just one person.
Happy Musiking!

I speak the truth. That's why I stopped using it. Froze whenever I was doing random stuff.
If you are that unhappy with RC (whichever version you may have purchased.. you never said if you were a customer of LE or Full, or just a user of the demo)... maybe ask Attila for a refund or something. I don't know. But CLEARLY, you are very unhappy with RC. I am not, and many others on this forum are not unhappy, either.
If you think HN is that great, then stick with it.

I never said, that RC is an entirely bad software. I absolutely appreciate the concept. And I'm also aware, that musicdevelopments is probably an one-man-show. But the software really needs more testing, that's for sure. Systematic testing.
I remember well, when V2 came out. I was very excited about the new user interface. But it didn't take a minute until the first crash happened. Just two clicks in the structure editor...uups. Yes, that bug and others were fixed quite quickly after the bug report. But users are no beta testers. A process like "report me a bug and I will fix it", that's not how quality assurance should work. That's why I will not send bug reports anymore.
The point, why I got really angry lately is, that something new happended: Usually, if RC is restarted after a crash it recovers the last state. But then, I couldn't restart the software anymore, because it obviously tried to load the corrupted project file of the last crashed session. I had to find out, what files I have to delete to make RC restart again. Meanwhile I found out, that I can skip loading the last project file with the CTRL key at the startup. The software gives this information when it starts, but how should I know that when it crashes on start? And with no manual? Now tell me, don't you think, I have reasons to get angry?
I've seen many people here and elsewhere speaking about RC as the software "which has so much potential". I hope this will not be the famous last words someday: "Too bad, this software had so much potential".
Until then, I will follow its path. And from time to time I will give it another try. As I did in the last two years. I will also upgrade to V3, V4, V5, if necessary. And I will be happy to inform you, if I someday should succeed in doing something productive with it.

J.F.K,
after sending my reply I realized that it may be interpreted in a negative way. To keep everyone happy I implemented your request today. In note editing mode the context pop-up will contain "Move Notes To New Phrase". It does what you described. You will find it in the next update.

I just tested this new "Move Notes To New Phrase" function at V2.5. Works really great. A big thank you for implementing this!musicdevelopments wrote:I implemented your request today. If you find a bug, its repeatable and you can describe how to repeat it, Attila will have it fixed in no time from my experience.

Absolutely true. He's on top of his game. The only thing we both need sometimes is for people to report the exact steps they did to cause the crashes... it's so much easier to pinpoint, if and when.
As I said before-- we worked nearly ALL of them out... we busted ass.
