Just remember kids, that if you find something broken in an AAS plug in that's the way it will remain. Try loading up Tassman and going though the presets...

where are you finding a 64 bit version of UA one? is that windows only? i just scoured my downloads page and couldn't find any mention of 64 bit anywhere. thanks.sebaden wrote:64bit support since 3 years but anyway still great update for existing costumers.Dewdman42 wrote:$29 is a great upgrade price and totally fair. They added some improvements with new FX, updated the GUI...and 64bit...that alone is well worth $29. just bought it sight unseen. I love the way this synth sounds even though its kind of simplistic.....it just "sounds" good.

Not being able to use old banks is a real deal breaker for me since I own quite a few

Adding a compressor, limiter and some guy's signature sounds doesn't strike me as attention-grabbing. No new waveforms or processes? Variable triangle? Ringmod? Analog modelled wavefolder? Cuddly toy?
I have always wondered about Ultra Analog, though. It gets a lot of good word and I've never checked it out (let's face it, I don't need another synth, let alone another oldschool analog-style one).
I agree, I should upgrade just to make my version 1 license sellable, but I can't be bothered. To my ears, it is not improved enough to worth even downloading the demo.

But.......you can still use them in version 1.......ATS wrote:Not being able to use old banks is a real deal breaker for me since I own quite a few
I just tried the version 2 demo. I like the sound just as I do with version 1.....GUI not so much but all in all I think it's worth $30......

I have to rely on presets a lot these days (no time to make music) so 600+ new presets+ another 100+ That's nearly 800 presets for $29. A good deal. Is the reverb better than on V1? I like the GUI look a lot more but not the 3 tabs. I liked that everything was on one screen in V1. I have a 27" and a 24" monitor so screen space is not an issue...

Are the presets new? What do they mean by "renewed". Same presets as V1 but with effects added or are these new presets in V2?pheeleep wrote:I have to rely on presets a lot these days (no time to make music) so 600+ new presets+ another 100+ That's nearly 800 presets for $29. They got my $29. I'd bought UA for $15 in an earlier promotion but never used it much because I disliked the UI.
I do wish they'd at least scaled it to the same size as Chromaphone, but it's usable. Sounds mostly not mind-blowing but pretty solid, and some of the presets are quite good.

Can someone confirm loading or not loading third party VA1 presets on new version?
That said, I've received so much value from my original UA-1 Audio MIDI special, it would be hard to say no to this. Nothing wrong with using 2 versions, but would be cool if the new one will load old presets.

Oh man... I fired up my DAW hoping that I had bought VA-1 Session somewhere along the way. Yea! I had it so I was immediately off to upgrade land. For $49.00 I have a really slick, killer VA synth! I've been running over the presets and messing with the FX... this thing is really nice... I think it has become my current favorite! Yea... I like the reverb. It is the same as the reverb in the new Lounge Lizard EP-4
Thanks for the heads up!

The webpage graphic shows the eight sets of sounds that were already available and says:
"With eight Sound Bank Series titles adding up to a thousand presets, Ultra Analog VA-2 looks forward to spark your imagination—whenever you need it."
There is no mention on whether these banks have been updated or need to be updated for version 2, but the page (as quoted above) clearly says VA-2. So perhaps there is something that we're missing here or perhaps the banks have indeed been updated to work with version 2. If so, I wonder if past purchasers will have access to these updates. I checked in the manual and did not see any mention of compatibility (or lack thereof) with version 1. I had been wondering whether there was some kind of import or update function? I haven't updated yet, so I guess I'll find out when I get there.

Strange. I sold my VA1 a long time ago and just got an email to buy this version for $29.
I now own VA2. What a bargain.
And it sounds fantastic.

Shame about the gui, and to be honest, I never used VA-1 much (was a real pita for me to program for some reason and really didn't find the presets all that flash.. in fact, I thought they were quite flat and plastic sounding). $30 though... will definitely give V2'a demo a bash (not that hot on the GUI in the demo vid, but hey, let's see eh
)!

I agree about the GUI. Sounds are good though, and VERY light on CPU.GeorgeZ wrote:Shame about the gui, and to be honest, I never use VA-1 much (was a real pita for me to program for some reason and really didn't find the presets all that flash.. in fact, I thought they were quite flat and plastic sounding). $30 though... will definitely give V2'a demo a bash (not that hot on the GUI in the demo vid, but hey, let's see eh)!
