You can define mono and stereo inputs and of course you can activate multiple tracks for recording at once.

Thank you for that quick answer Tom.
I hope for still basic DAW features with a modern interface that makes editing complex thing in a powerful and easy way.

For instance, I'd like to find more info about audio editing as well.
How to copy / paste parts of clips from a clip to another for instance.
How to deal with multiple takes.
Many many questions !! :)

From what I've seen I'm planning to go to Bitwig Studio.
In that plan, there are two questions where I'd like to have more info if it's possible :

1- What's covered by BWS instruments ?
2- Will the modular and integrated design be extended to all instruments ?

Here is what I mean :

1. The synth side is well visible on the screenshots and videos,
plus, knowing about BWS modular design and how nice Surge sounds,
the synth part in BWS is quite clear.

But, what's about other instruments, what's about instrument presets (part of the muscial content) that will come with BWS ?
What instruments will fit well into BWS ?

2. I understand BWS as trying to focus on workflow and integration, to ease and speed up the musician's work.
For that reason, I really hope that the instruments will have the same user interface as the studio (see the work done by AAS and Live).

Cheers,
B.

I've been lurking on these Bitwig threads for ages, glad to hear that the beta is doing well and thanks to all the people posting useful information... and good luck to Bitwig, I hope this hits soon.... I am most interested in automation compensation for Plugins, could any of the beta testers reflect on that part of the application?? to me that is the primary reason I've halted working with Ableton and it's actually the most important thing for me, of course all of the other features look great.

Bitwig has full PDC (so they say)

I've heard that, I was just wondering if it was confirmed in the beta.

Bitwig stated it specifically...

I'm also interested in the stock instruments and FX. How do they stack up against Live and how usable are they in general?

I'm curious about how the EQ and Compressor in Bitwig compare to their Live 9 counterparts.

What do you think of the sample library that comes with the bitwig sampler?
How does it compare to the basic live sample library that comes with Live?
Does the sampler do any thing with per note automation?

How do the stock Bitwig synths compare to stock Live synths? How does the Bitwig synth compare to Surge?

Is there way to Tag individual samples (specifically drum samples) in the Bitwig browser?

Yep I read that, what I'm asking more specifically, could a beta tester confirm it working in the beta? if it's an unfinished feature I'd be concerned I guess.

Sorry guys, I personally will not go into the whole "how are the synths compared to xyz", "how are the presets", "how is the library compared to xyz", "how does the compressor compare to that in Live" thing.

- It is extremely subjective.
- It is a beta version.
- I don't know how much of the content is final.
- My personal taste in these things is quite different from the majority usually. ;-)

I can say so much: There is a nice Content Tool that can download and install all the factory content automatically ;-)
A bit similar to how it works in Studio One.

Some of the recent questions I don't even understand (@bulusglo), so don't expect answers from me ;-)

To be honest: I think we covered most of what makes sense to talk about at this point.

Now we enter extremely detailed-and-specialized-question-land, which is often quite involved to answer or simply makes no sense at this point or testers simply may not know definitive answers anyway.

Therefore, I think I'll leave the field to others who have more knowledge now.

when is this shit coming out

That's the only question I am interested in as I would like to form my own opinions! I'm sure we will all try the demo when it comes out, I'm sure some things will be better than other daws, some worse, some just different....the only thing I know for sure is it won't make my music any better, I cue entry use about 10% of the potential of the daws and plugs I have!

That wouldn't stop me buying it though ;-)

Seems like they have a major case of SRCS, 'Software Release Constipation Syndrome' at the moment.

Some laxative should be very helpful :hihi:

I'm not much of a controller user, so I guess others will be more interested in this part than me.

Cheers,

Tom
Thanks, I guess I should have thought about that seeing all that has been said about the controller scripting.

No worry Thomas,
That's an answer ;)
Thank you.

We'll have to wait for release to discover things like the instrument patch list.

The "content" download feature is a good news.
