Hi,
I used to use MOTU's DP4 years ago.
Moved to Logic Pro, then Cubase. Now using Cubase 7 (PC) . Cubase 7 is my primary DAW.
I'm not sure if it would be wise to buy the Upgrade to DP8 (which is $195), since it is PC compatible now.
So, given a choice of choosing Presonus Studio One Pro vs. MOTU DP8, Which one would you choose as a second DAW option ?
Thanks,
Muziksculp

Try the demos, they have quite different work flowsMuziksculp wrote:Hi,

DP8 is much more flexible in terms of arranging.
S1 is mainly a linear track DAW, and not much different to Cubase - so I don't know why you would consider it

Yeah.. I'm guessing DP8 will be a better choice than S1-Pro
Plus.. I hate S1-Pro's GUI. Hope they do something about that. DP8 offers various skins which is pretty cool.

Yeahhhhhh, buttttt...........
If you don't have a problem running S1 (do demo it) then you might be surprised at how well you can get on with things with it. I dunno, I know DP offers more, I should demo it and see about it.
But with S1 I never think that anymore. I never think "oooooo, it's ugly" any longer. To me it's utilitarian. There are things I'd really like to see different, but mostly, it's great because it's simple......if that makes any sense.
