It does sound good, but unfortunately for half that price you can get Synthmaster on sale and it's better in every way imaginable. However, unlike UA-2, Synthmaster's tab's are actually logical and necessary.

I find the Tabs are set out logically enough, following signal flow for the channels. I am viewing on 1920 x 1080 on 21"(i think) and can not say i have any problems. A scalable interface would be nice but i can manage as it stands, though it is an awful shame a GUI is putting off many people, stopping them using a good sounding synth.

Seriously? It's beyond me that anyone can like to work with tabs. The whole point with these kind of synths is that they are fun to program like an analog synth. I can excuse hugely complex synths like Absynth and Alchemy for using tabbed interfaces, but for something as simple as this it's a disgrace.
Please give an example of popular hardwaver or software VAs that have this amount of tab craziness.
Fact is that most people prefer untabbed interfaces - people like to see the patch in front of them.

Good design is good design. If you think toggling through tabs is a good interface experience then good for you, but you're kinda missing the whole analog synth experience.

Just look at these popular similar synths. Very few tabs and with a focus on the showing the whole synth on one page - so you can actually see the patch!
Sylenth1, Massive, SA ANA, Diva, Synth Squad, D16 101, Imposcar 2, U-he Ace, Arturia SEM, Steinberg Retrologue, Tone2 Saurus, Synth1 etc.

This is a point that could be argued many ways and I won't take a position one way or another.
Personally I don't mind either tabbed or laid-out design.

But I don't think Massive is a good example of your point:
It has three levels of tabs and the overall design view is hidden in a tab.

I build in Reaktor a lot so I can use a tabbed approach if I like.

Sounding 'good' in absolute terms is irrelevant. More relevant is how it sounds and what it delivers compared to other synths at their various price points. In this sense, $149 would not compare favourably. For example, on the high side against Diva @ $179 or say, compared to the TAL synths ~ $60, $149 doesn't seem to make much sense.

But for $29, even if I can only get a few usable sounds out to use in tracks, it is a no-brainer.

So far, my feeling from playing around a little bit is that it is not bad. Not Diva 'wow', but pretty good.

EDIT - wow I just looked on their website and it's $199!! That price is off the hook...

Again with the "most people" - unless I missed a survey you mean "you".
I love the new GUI - nice and clean and neat - well organized. great synth.
If I want the "analog experience" I'd look for hardware - it's a soft synth.

Count me in with the people that don't like the new gui. Together with the fact that I can use my third party soundsets no longer with it, even for 29,00 I won't update.

I don't mind that there are tabs. However, the sub-tabs on the edit menu are kind of a mess.

the 600+ new sounds are worth the money alone. the gui is no problem for me (same as lizard4) i like that.

a few third party sounddesigners confirmed here how helpful aas is with converting their banks to v2 btw..

Yup complete with lots of bugs and a filter that steps when the resonance is cranked way up
