What CPU? Does other SE plugins work - like MinimogueVA or Kruudster? It was developed on an XP SP3 PC. The CPU does need to support SSE & SSE2 though, but those things are 10+ years old. :?

This is an old Sony Vaio with a 1GHz AMD, no SSE XP SP2, Reaper 4.52. SE plugins generally run fine.

I'll be happy to offer any help, but also I don't expect everything to work here or devs trying to figure things out. This is hopefully a temporary situation for me. But looks like I'm the only one having this problem in Reaper.

It also crashes Minihost and Savihost.

That's the problem - SSE/SSE2 is a CPU-hardware requirement that HYDi uses to save some CPU cycles. Sorry!

Hey folks,

I worked on this little Beta trailer thingy for the last two days now in my spare time. Mostly new patches (I am really proud of this wardrum sound which I discovered via accident while tuning my sound...still a little bit noisy). I dreamed the whole time of making some nice long filtersweep and finally got one which I really like. It's the new LP 12db C in action (from 0% -> 100% and back with a little bit of keytracking :) ).

100% HYDi and her own fx. Just a little bit of VOS stuff here and there across the mix. Nothing gamechanging. But it adds such a nice additional depth. Btw it's the 1st time that I really enjoyed bootsies last plug: the Thrillseeker VBL. Dang, this one rides nicely on the sweep.

Anyways, hope you like it (especially the sweep) and have a nice weekend.

HYDi delivers meat in heaps! Really nice oldskool action film vibe :)

Hehe, thx. And you know what's funny about that? The first time I discovered HYDi I programmed lots of 4 step seq stuff (because that was so unqiue) and was instantly hooked up by her sound. Actually my first patchbank idea (still under development) for HYDi was some 70's & 80's Horror & Splatter stuff like D. Argento, G.A. Romero and John Carpenter. Something like "Revenge Of The Communist Zombies From Outerspace" because everytime I programmed a new patch there was this exploitation movie genre in my head. :)

Yeah, thought of him exactly this time.

:D
That's the kind of name I'd like to use for something for a long time now. Still can't imagine what an application it will be though, too long for a preset name :)

Holy Batman :) Outstanding preset sculpting skills, Halma :) I mean that actually sounds like a war drum :) Wow :)

Guys, I have a big favour to ask: once the new HYDi is released, if any of your presets are left out, could you please be so kind to release them as additional banks for the synth? It would be trully great to have such a nice instrument backed up by an extended preset library. I'm on the verge of going 100% freeware and I prefer on the fly workflow - having the right sounds to quickly sketch the structure of a song makes a huge difference and helps maintaining those creative juices high ;)

Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate it.

At least I will release all (or most) of my stuff. The things I will leave out are not worth to mention. But I know that Andrew is already thinking of releasing more than the default bank.

Heck I already had way too much fun with this synth and have a shitload of patches sitting on my HD. The only thing I need to do is to collect and sort them. And name them properly for non Halma beings. :D

Just curious if there has been any more progress on this?

Thanks for asking. Don't worry, Andrew is finishing the manual right now and I am working on finishing my additional patchbank. Though I can't confirm any official release date (Andrew is handling that and I won't push him towards this) it should not last that long anymore.

So just ten days...and counting ;) Can't wait ;)

On a different note, it would be neat if it could be skinnable :)

Will probably be before then, I'm done - as in 100%, already enjoying my victory beer :D . Just waiting for a reply from a friend that is proof reading the manual. Will launch initially with 256 patches. The rest will follow later in a periodic fashion.

GUI stuff is not my strong point, I 'pay' GUI designers with custom c++ SynthEdit modules, the more GUI stuff I get - the more stuff I release publicly, don't know how easily it can be hacked, especially now that it has two pages...
