The unit is perfectly usable in it's current state.....no urgent bugs in my opinion. Buglist is reserved to beta testers I think (and I am not one of them).luke4421 wrote:Really interested in this synth up in Canada, do the current owners recommend an early purchase?
anywhere I can see a bug list?
Thanks!

I just got word that Pulse 2's are on the way to us. If anyone is still thinking about a pre-order discount, you'll probably want to PM me soon.

ok, let me add my 2cents in a few words
Waldorf Pulse 2 is quite a versatile little soundmonster which adds up nicely to any of the current Moogs and DSI synths as it does have some different basic sound. It should fit well into a mix. Esp. the different filter types, XMod, Sync, Filter feedback and mod matrix provide good options for some more indepth soundshaping. Thus the possible variety in sound does excel most competitors in the around 500 bucks league. You don't get that special fat American sound of the Moogs and DSI synths but instead a versatile and big German sound
So check it out, listen and compare for yourself.
Onboard editing is fairly good but it is more convenient to have a software editor as it is simply faster to get to results. The soft editor by synnys
does the job nicely though there are still a few features on the wishlist left like saving/reading to/from file and patch managing. But it's 6Euro only.
now back to doing some more patches ...

Cheers! I owned the original Pulse and liked it's character a lot. Obviously I'd demo the Pulse 2 before buying anyway, but if anyone have experience of the first Pulse and can comment on if the sound is somewhat similar between the two? :)

perhaps, waldorf will tell us soon, i think...
@exode
i owned a Pulse at the end of the nineties...
yes, it can do the same "cold", "technoid" sound. But beside this, the Pulse 2 can also sound warm and do a lot more...
And it can even play the patches from an old pulse...so due to the new parts that were built in, waldorf says old patches should sound for around 98% exactly the same.

I've been trying to decide which programable analog synth to buy, so I made this feature chart.

The Pulse II stays up there with the best.

Is it even possible to buy a Xenophone?
I own the first 3 on the list.
All smashing synths. The DominionX has lame pots though.
I'm loving the Bass Station 2 as i don't need to plug anything into it, but the Waldorf is king I think.
Being able to master tune to exact frequencies is great, all modern synths should have this feature.

Cool chart! Even though the Minitaur ranks the lowest feature-wise, its sound suits me the most out of all these.
