Just my thoughts when I read Michael1985's machine-gun-questions part two.
I initially thought to answer his first list with just a list of yes, no and maybe as a joke, but then it felt silly and I elaborated at least a bit. But I should have guessed that that would just get him to a second, longer blast.

Sorry, but this is supposed to be fun and such lists aren't.

Cheers,

Tom

Yeah, I agree with Thomas. Thanks for taking the time to answer so many questions, by the way.

I'm not going to take requests. I'll cover what I can in my videos and if I know the the answer to a specific question, I'll answer to the best of my ability but you guys will have to wait until the User Guide is available to the public for those kinds of specifics.

That press release was from Musikmesse, last April. I don't think the Impact LX series will ship with Bitwig Studio support, the rest is accurate though. Of course we do plan to have Bitwig support for the LX Series at some point but I can't say when.

Aw, I feel kinda bad for him since we all have been having our fun asking questions and it sounds like that stuff is important to him. But of course you guys are not here to answer everything at our beck and call either.

I'll answer what I can:
Yes, I do believe you can link parameters to macro knobs and then automate them and rename them.
If by "change the order of channels" you mean moving the tracks around in the mixer or arrange I have no direct info but that's so basic and Live has it as well so I'm thinking yes.
Tracks can have colors assigned to them and you can use the info view to pick the colors
As far as selection inversion, bitwig made a facebook post mentioning "reverse note pattern" so something like that will apparently be in there: https://www.facebook.com/bitwig/posts/537523522953207

If you read through the this thread starting around page 65 and watch all the videos on their youtube channel, you may be able to pick up a lot more, and it's not that much to go through. Some of this stuff has been covered already, that's the only reason I knew.

Of course you are free (as is Thomas) to answer or not as is your inclination! :-)

I was wondering if you can do some basic destructive audio editing in Bitwig?

That is planned for a future video. I mean, I would be letting myself down if I didn't F some SU at some point. :D

That post wasn't meant to be as snarky as it may sound (read?). I'm overwhelmed by all the stuff I want to check out, and not having nearly enough free time doesn't help. I'm more than happy to answer questions about things I have already tested but I'm not going to go looking for details about features I haven't looked at yet. I hope that makes sense. :)

Nice. Can't wait for the audio editing video, that's probably the most important thing to me that I haven't seen yet.

would you be willing to list the effects/instruments that come with Bitwig? Are there MIDI plugins included?

Oh yeah, I'm not sure if I saw any, interesting question.

There is a Note Tool for constraining Note and Velocity ranges but nothing like Ableton's MIDI effects, yet. I could have sworn there was an arpegiator the first time I looked at BWS, in January but it's not there in the beta I have.

hmm...that's disappointing. Even Logic has implemented MIDI effects.

Wasn't snarky and I would say the same thing to keep the wolves at bay! hehehe

And looking forward to that audio editing video for sure! Thanks...

+1
Audio editing and processing is something I'm interested to have in a DAW like Bitwig Studio.
