Dual Display causes grief for RC

I am running Win8-64bit at 44K in Reaper64 (latest version) with the full version of RapidComposer as a vst (downloaded 3 days ago).

I found that as long as RC is open and stays in the primary monitor, it runs. But as soon as I drag RC into the secondary monitor, RC instantly crashes.

In order to get back up and running, a complete cold boot of my PC is required. (not just a restart).

Otherwise, as soon as I load the current Reaper project, it all loads properly and if I immediately close it, all is well. But if I load the project and press play to engage RC and then stop, as soon as I close the project, I get the "Sorry, RC crashed..." message.

Since I do not use RC as a vst I cannot say for certain; however, the cause may be in the way you have installed. This seems to be a common cause.

See my post here for a proper install method:

Scroll down a bit for the instructions part.

Recently some that were having crash issues have resolved their problems using the described installation methods.

You may also want to consider running RC stand alone and connecting via a virtual midi cable such as this:

I use RC in this manner and have great results. Actually, I use rptMidi (found at the same place) which is midi over LAN. Rc on one computer, DAW on the other, connected via virtual midi.

Thank you for posting about this problem.
We had multiple monitor issues in the past and I thought all bugs have been found.
I'll check and fix this before the next update.

Thanks,
Attila

EDIT: the crash when quitting Reaper is already fixed and will be in the next update
