Kingston Drums released

Hello KVR.
I've just finished porting my sampled drum kits. They are called Easyrider and Ruffrider, and are totally free.
Easyrider is about 90mb(48khz 24bit stereo) and Ruffrider is 20mb (44.1khz 16bit stereo). They both have a different sound. They are about 50mb and 15mb when compressed.
Supported formats:
EXS24 mkII
Halion 2
Kontakt 1.5.2
DR-008
.WAV
Soundfont 2
SFZ
+several other community made formats and alternative key-maps.
They sound pretty realistic, and feature the kind of smashing ride sound you've all been waiting for. I've used these since the year 2000 in just about every production I've done (albeit sometimes very subtly). I'm suprised that even the likes of BFD haven't the kind of expressive rides that these have. That's why I want to give these away free.
Here's a site with the kits:
http://kingstondrums.bombsquad.org/
and
http://dspevo.com/Harmony_Counterpoint/ ... cid=46#cat
Thank you Spe3d!
when someone eventually creates maps for unsupported formats, or different keymap styles, they will be included at the site.
For those requesting GM compatibility: there are already a few community made/supported alternative maps.

You're right, the cymbals kick major ass. Crashes sound nice and full, no wimpyness here. Can't wait for the release!
Thanks for your generosity!

hey everyone, what's that web hosting company's name that hosts free for musicians & artists??
Maybe we can get you a good referal here. I know the company, but I can't remember the name. I'll try & find it.

No no, don't worry about hosting and stuff. That's all taken care of. It's just not up to me at this point. I have to wait a while, unfortunately.
You won't miss the release if you check http://members.lycos.co.uk/michaelkingston every once in a while.

I've only listened to the first Ruffrider mp3, and I'm impressed already.
Will the single hits be available in .wav format at some point?

Start looking at BitTorrent I would suggest. These things on a download site are going to eat up a huge amount of bandwidth - especially once the feeding frenzy starts. If it's a zip, you could still included a document with all your information, right? Even if you offer it as a alternative to the download, it would lighten your server's load, and make us somewhat web geeks happy.
Just a thought.

cyanogen,
EXS/Halion/Kontakt support means that single hit .WAV files will be automatically included.
Puffer, I also have suspicions that once the kits hit the net, there might be bandwidth trouble. Just look what happened at www.natural-studio.co.uk when ns kit 7 was released.
We'll just have to see then won't we...

'feeding frenzy' is an apt description; whichever of us arrives at the smell of blood first gets the meat
