Technically, yes. But if you run e.g. Nave on an iPad 2, there isn't much CPU left for another app.

Does it work like this using audio bus?
Can the output of something like loopy go into the input of something like turnado?
Can loopy and Samplr sync up to midi timecode from Ableton Live with iconnect2+?

Yes to all of the above- I think. Not so sure about MTC, but MIDI clock at least. Chaining them together in Audiobus depends on the apps- some can only be an input, or only used as an fx.dusted william wrote:Thanks,T-CM11 wrote:Technically, yes. An iPad 2 will go surprisingly far- I can use any synth, any fx, and record into Multitrack DAW with no problems. Adding a second synth is even possible sometimes, depending on which specific apps and how hungry they are.

Thanks,
How do you switch between the two?
Can synth 1 be on midi channel 1, and synth 2 be on midi channel 2?
this is getting me excited, gonna have to plop down on an ipad mini.

Switching: There's a little audiobus sidebar in every app.
With some synths you can switch midi channels, in others you can't.
Why a mini? It will make it harder to touch smaller interface elements...

I think I like the smaller size a bit better. Still deciding.T-CM11 wrote:Switching: There's a little audiobus sidebar in every app.

Ideally I'd like to have a couple to incorporate into a live show. Cheaper is better

A mini isn't that much cheaper than an iPad 2. But if you want "a couple", buy either, and then decide if you want bigger/smaller/the same for your next onedusted william wrote:I think I like the smaller size a bit better. For me, I have an iPad 2... I wouldn't want what I have to be smaller. And it's not about portability anymore, it's not Volca vs. Moog Voyager, one can easily put 10 full-size iPads in a backpack without breaking your back
