I remember asking KVR a similar question a short while back. As was stated, there is the obvious question of who you make music for. I listened to some of your music, and it is pretty good (looked at Flashback by someone in this thread's recommendation. Good stuff.), and you can be secure about that. The biggest thing about exposure is luck. Find opportunities for people to hear your music; you have to bring it to them, and eventually they will connect with it.
Example: This guy makes some freaking awesome music. And he has 6 followers. Six. Found him because he commented on one of my songs, so he obviously is active in finding music on soundcloud. Just needs some exposure. I suspect the situation is similar with you, and a lot of other amateur musicians. Hell, maybe even me. Pardon the rambling. https://soundcloud.com/xinopty
