Heya,
I'm an iPhone app developer from Amplify: a small team who creates exciting and interactive music apps.
We have just released our first app, Junglator which is an interactive Jungle & Drum'n'Bass app and we want to get as much feedback, which is why I'm posting here.
Junglator is an iPhone app which allows anyone, ranging from music lover to music pro, to mashup and interact with Jungle & Drum'n'Bass. Although some view it as a toy we have found that even experienced producers have a lot of fun with it, and find it inspirational, creating intricate breaks that would take hours of editing to produce conventionally.
Check out our promo video here:
..and a video of me performing a mental amen drum solo here:
We'd love to hear what you guys think of the app and if you're interested having a go we're offering the Junglator for the introductory price of 69p : https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/junglator/id717233716
Going forward we are hoping to work with real DNB artists to bring their tracks to Junglator as paid and free DLC.
If you like it we'd really appreciate a tweet, as it's early days for us and only have limited reach in our network.
Thanks, looking forward to what you guys have to say!
Alex

You sound like a very open minded group of dev's. That's really cool and I'll probably try your app just because you seem cool.

I bought this under the impression that I can mix my own tracks d'n'b style.
But there is only in-app 3 tracks and no import function I can find.
The App description did not say that I can do this but does not point out that I cannot, either. Big downer! BUt then you only speak of a "DJ Experience", not a DJ app.
The idea of having mostly background tracks that I can overlay with Samples is nice,
but again, without a means to use my own samples to overlay my own backtracks, this is only a toy in the bad sense of it.
The basic idea and the realization of it is really good but as it is the app has to go a long way. As soon as I can import my own stuff, I'll be all raving.

Hey sorry for that - it wasn't our intention to deceive - it's just hard to write compelling copy and getting all the facts in.mindnoise wrote:I bought this under the impression that I can mix my own tracks d'n'b style.

We were trying to make something fun for everyone and much of the feedback is that you really like the idea, but need more flexibility. We are looking at bringing more options and tracks which may interest you in the future, starting with audiobus, so that you can export the audio, and some other ideas.
