i got Harmony Engine 64-bit update for free. still sucks for Antares to screw other users like that.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

I'm just downloading my FREE 64 bit/AAX Soundtoys native bundle as I type this! Yesterday I upgraded all my PSP plug ins to AAX (again these were free and PSP is a small company operating in Poland). Most of my Native Instruments plug ins are now 64 bit/AAX and i didn't have to pay a cent for this privilege.
My beef is more about Antares doing dirty marketing and relabelling their Avox Evo to AVOX 4 and making out like it's some new package with new functionality. That's what really irks me to be honest. And as someone else mentioned above regarding Autotune 7: Making out as if the 64 bit version as a new product: What a load of bullshit!
Serato recently updated their awesome Pitch n Time to version 3 and have also charged a $49 upgrade price. Wavearts also charge a 10% amount of the total value of each of their plug ins to go 64 bit/AAX. Guess what, I'll do as others have advised above and give them the ass and instead use plug ins from other manufacturers that get the same job done in slightly different ways.
It is true that Protools 11 was a charged upgrade to get 64 bit support. But if it means that I'm going to be able to hold on to an older computer for another couple of years because Avid have done so much to make PT so much more CPU efficient, not to mention gaining access to all that valuable extra RAM, (and the ultra high quality 150% offline bounce functionality) then I'm happy to pay for this as it will improve my workflow and the overall performance of my system. Hence, I deliberately skipped updating to PT9 and initially 10 because they didn't bring anything drastically new for me that I couldn't already do in 8(LE).
It's great to have choices as other's have mentioned! Thankfully, I've matured enough over the years to only upgrade if I'm 100% convinced that my system, workflow and MUSIC PRODUCTION will benefit and the end result for all of us is producing great music, be it as a hobby or professionally.
LOLOL Now I'm off to spend $79 on AVOX 4!!!!!!! JOKE

After skimming this thread, I was able to upgrade my $10 audiomidi Mutator no-brainer from over four years ago to Evo 64 for $9.99. There was only Evo as a choice to upgrade from, but it worked. The Evo plug-ins work from the non-Evo ilok asset. However, Evo does not run from Evo 64. I think if you're upgrading from Evo to Evo 64, you have to surrender the Evo asset. I haven't had to surrender the older Mutator asset, yet. So, maybe I get to keep it? Anyway, I hope all that makes sense. Mutator Evo 64 for $19.99 total? Yes, and just in time for spooky Halloween voices!
