ThomasHelzle wrote:One more thing: I just tried and yes, you can have automation independent of the lenght of your clip:

A 7 bar bass melody is running, I put a NotePitchShifter before the instrument and automate it's Coarse Pitch Value over 21 Bars so that it goes up one note every 7 bars. I loop that Automation at 21 bars and have now 3 repetitions of the 7 Bars, each one note higher as the one before.
Then I added a Resonance Automation with just 3 Bars length, also looping...

This is brilliant and can create extreme complexity from one simple loop when having multiple automations, each with a different lenght!

Cool :-)

Tom
Sounds Amazing, to my knowledge there really hasn't been anything in the daws I've used so far to do anything remotely close to this.

Can't wait, finally a daw where it seems that midi, and instruments and automation is a main large focus. :D

Hello Bitwggies:

1.There are clip and the traditional track automation. If I use clip automation and there is no automation after that, is there a standard value or do it use the last automation point inside the clip automation? And can I automate the same parameter with track AND clip automation?

2.And if I move, duplicate, copy&paste and delete clips and whole clip groups inside the arrnagement, do all the clip automation follows and also the track automation, if I want that?

3.If I want to change the order of clip groups inside the arrangement, and there is track automation of bus effects, do these automations follow the editing?

4.editing clip groups inside the arrangement: is there folder editing?

5.can I exchange one clip group with another inside the arrangement, as example if I chage the order of music parts?

Thanks for answers!

Live can :) But thats also why people have been asking if its in BW, its a great feature to have unlinked automation envelopes since it makes it real easy to create more evolving patterns out of a very basic midi line without having to copy/paste/edit over and over

MuLab can do that too! As well as multi-layered instruments, played from a single track. And while playing such multi-layered instrument, you can still automate each and every parameter within that multi-layered instrument. Etc... etc... MuLab is deep, and existing! More info on mutools.com

Hey, cool. did you use any of the factory instruments and effects?
The soundsource, since it is a track for the KVR-OSC competition is one synth, namely: Cableguys Curve2CM. But all the rest of it is Bitwig. Think of the awesome delays, compressors, reverb (ok, its not a valhallaroom, but it works and is cpu friendly) etc.

Furthermore it is a modular valhalla and you should really try it when its out.

Absolutely not. You guys seem to be very interested in a modular host where composition and sound design are closely related, and with flexible routing like heaven. Well MuLab does that. So no spam at all.

But it's not new and shiny and currently unavailable. :hihi:

On a more serious note, Thomas has given up some really good info on the cat daw. Cool stuff. Props to Thomas for doing that.
