Are there any other NaSoAlMo (National Solo Album Month) participants on KvR?

http://nasoalmo.org

Writers can't have all the fun in November. 30 minutes of music in a month shouldn't be very hard for most of us. I've done it a couple of times in the past, as well as the (slightly more difficult) FAWM.

In fact I'm kind of considering planning to make a 30+ minute album every month in 2014. By the time I've done that much, I should have one good quality album worth of material. :hihi:

Well, this is seems just the right thing for a talent-deprived perfectionist like me...

I read about this the other day at the Ambientonline forum. I think it's a really great idea. At the time I was thinking that Ambientonline should have their own version just as maybe KVR should have their own version!

Unfortunately, I'm out this year due to prior commitments. :(

Unless anyone wants to do something in December or January! I think it would be a great way to end the year on a positive creative note! But then, it might also be a fantastic way of starting the year by hitting the ground running.

Good luck to everyone who signs up though!!! We should start an "Encouragement" thread here for those who are participating and so that people can share their progress! :)

I think the official page has a forum where people can do that... but at the same time KVR has a heck of a lot more people and we come here all the time anyway... so posting here may or may not be a nice option too.
Available on iTunes, Amazon, etc.

30 mins?

any style restrictions?
can my 30 mins be a single track?
:ud:

Technically, 29:09 or more (the length of the first Ramones album).

No style restrictions, and I don't see why not.

just last night, i too was thinking of making a single track for this.

no restrictions really.

last year, i got chided a bit for using 3rd party drum tracks (it's supposed to be a 'solo' album), but it turned out to be no big deal (sometimes 'solo artists' bring in other musicians).

as of last evening, it looks like they've got around 50 people.

doing this sort of thing within kvr would be awesome. it would totally amp up and ramp up activity in 'the cafe'. could you imagine 50 or 100 month-long threads, each containing 10 or 20 pieces by each participant?

well, contest or no contest.. at some point it's all about chasing the muse. ymmv
