Just tried it, I could successfully learn and map the cutoff to an arbitrary knob on my keyboard. looks as if that works. can anybody confirm that?

Are you using higher frequencies like 96khz or something?photonic wrote: Most of the presets are just a very short and noisy pluck, even the strings. When I try to modify the ADSR I got no usefull times for attack and release. The release allways sounds like cut or gated.
And SAVIhost allways crashes when I try to open Tunefish.

OK, so I found the problem:payne_bc wrote:Okay, I implented a fixed mapping, please check and see if this does anything for you. Lowpass cutoff is on 39 for example.

I'll play a bit with reaper myself and see if I can figure it out, too
The new version does react to the given CC, however, the GUI controls are not updating. This made me think that this is the actual problem, so I went back to the original version (I didn't check sound before, only looked at the GUI). So, the original version does indeed ALSO work in Reaper and controls are mapped trough the learn function in Reaper... but the GUI is not updating.
I also saw this GUI-issue with the presets; if I select the presets from the Tunefish GUI, the patch-selection in the Reaper patch dropdown is not updating, but more importantly; when I select a patch with the Reaper patch dropdown, Tunefish is actually changing its sound but the GUI is not updated with the new settings.
Hope this helps (but probably a bigger issue to fix).

Yes I see that GUI updating issue. I'll get working on it, it's surely not a 5 minute fix but also won't take a day
Sorry for all this inconvenience, but I'll fix issues ASAP and hopefully you will not get totally demotivated and I have a new release with many fixes at the end

Actually, having a dev working this close with users is very much motivating insteadpayne_bc wrote:Yes I see that GUI updating issue. I'll get working on it, it's surely not a 5 minute fix but also won't take a day

No problems with modifying the ADSR and getting sustained sounds here.photonic wrote:Most of the presets are just a very short and noisy pluck, even the strings. When I try to modify the ADSR I got no usefull times for attack and release. The release allways sounds like cut or gated.

I used 96kHz. With 48 or 44.1kHz everything seems OK at first test.
Thanx for this quick help!

Got it up and running in Reaper. Gotta love the "Formant" feature. Right now I'm having fun applying it to different presets (:

Ok. fixed the issues with the UI updates.
- switching program in the host will now update the synth UI
- switching program in the synth will update the selected instrument in the host
- automating a parameter and tweaking it will update the UI
Hope this works for all of you. Thanks for the testing and feedback so far

This synth looks like fun - any chance there will be an AU version for Mac in time for this competition?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I'll try to be fast with fixes and updates during the competition, but an AU version from scratch is too much even for meontrackp wrote:This synth looks like fun - any chance there will be an AU version for Mac in time for this competition?

I noticed an issue with the 64-bit VSTi in SAVIHost (I have not tried the 32-bit VSTi). When I re-start SAVIHost, the last preset I was using is correctly loaded by the TuneFish sound engine, but the TuneFish preset browser internally thinks the "String, Short" preset is the currently loaded preset. When I try to cycle up or down through the presets with SAVIHost from that point on, the sound parameters all seem to be out of synch between the UI and the sound engine. From that point on, manually selecting a preset with TuneFish will result in TuneFish and SAVIHost being in agreement with the name and number of the currently selected preset, but the actual loaded sound is still some other preset. I am not sure if there is any way to synch the preset parameters as identified by the preset browser back with the preset parameters as loaded by the sound engine.

Did you use the new version I just posted?tonedef71 wrote:I noticed an issue with the 64-bit VSTi in SAVIHost (I have not tried the 32-bit VSTi).
