Nope, it showed the M1 factory library on the browser but when you load it, it forgets the location. Even the factory library project.zvenx wrote:
What location isn't it remembering?
are you speaking about projects or?
if you are speaking about imported M1 projects in M2, if you are using the internal samples/libraries you should be fine after the first time you point it out.... if you are using third party samples or your own, did you make use of the alias options in M1?
if may be a long night......
or are you speaking about something completely different?

Ive been holding out installing maschine on my new computer, since I figured I may as well go directly to maschine 2.0.
The installation process is slightly unclear. Is it better to install 1.8.2 and then install 2.0 and update the library, or should I download 2.0 and the entire factory library? What is the download size of the factory library? (EDIT: found out from the manual that its 5.0 GB).
Also, is there anything in the 1.8 library that is NOT in the 2.0 library? If there is some content missing, I'll probably just go with 1.8 for now and update in a few weeks.

Check the NI forum, there's a few threads on installation issues: http://www.native-instruments.com/forum ... -0-Library

Btw the drum synth is really good. It's very easy to find and tweak the right sound. Great new plugin.

After upgrading I was missing all of my purchased expansions. Found a Knowledgebase article on the NI site which said that expansions needed to be updated to be visible in Maschine 2.0. After downloading and installing the 1.1 updates, everything is okay for me.

I'm having problems getting my Mk2 hardware work with the new 2.0 update.
Maschine software seems to detect the Mk2 as it shows up in the controller menu. But none of the pads light up, no buttons seem to have any function. The master/group/sound tabs on the displays doesn't change when I select the different views in the software etc.
I'm running OS X Mavericks, and have of course updated everything available in NI Service Center.
Anybody else experiencing this? What to do?
Cheers

I did take a look at the forum, and have created a thread too, but haven't found the info I am looking for.
So far, I have understood the following:
1) if you are upgrading from 1.8, you must first download and install maschine 2.0 and komplete selection. What is not clear is whether you also have to download the maschine 2 factory library, or if there is a smaller update available via service center?
2) If you install maschine 2 from scratch, then download the application, komplete selection and the maschine 2 factory library. This seems like less hassle, since I do not have maschine 1.8 installed on my computer.
The only reason I'd go for (1) is if there is a huge difference in the amount of content to download.

I'm debating if I want to upgrade from 1.8. It seems too expensive to me, but then again, I use Maschine less than a lot of other instruments. Supposedly they made it run much smoother, does it function better/faster as a plugin now?

Ditto, they left out to many needed features for me. I might grab it if they have a sale but other than that they will need to improve the piano roll, add real time time stretch, groove templates, batch RX2 import for me to drop €99

Yeah. Me too. Apart from the 64 bit - this update does nothing for me. Maybe timestretch and round robin will come in v3 in a couple of years. Totally weird - I think those things should have been in v1 already. I mean, we are talking about features that are 15+ years old.topaz wrote:Ditto, they left out to many needed features for me. The new drum synths alone with modeling of acoustic and electronic drums is already worth $99 imo.DJMashbot wrote:I'm debating if I want to upgrade from 1.8. There's so much new stuff to even go into it all since 2.0 is a complete rewrite. Unlimited groups, unlimited plugins, unlimited scenes, new mixer, multicore support, sidechain, new 32-bit float internal summing audio engine, scene loop range, gate on note repeat, choke groups across groups, improved sample layering, internal MIDI routing, MIDI import, full MIDI CC support, full MIDI mapping of every Maschine parameter...etc. plus free license to Massive, Reaktor Prism, Solid Bus Comp, Scarbee MK1, and Komplete Elements. There's some more info on the new features here: http://www.native-instruments.com/en/pr ... -features/
