And reelbus sounds completely different to Satin so it's unique and thus can't be replaced easily.

I have all 3 of the tape plugins, the slate, reelbus and Satin and I use them all.

Cheers!

Same here. Tried a lot of Tape sims, Reelbus is really nice and good. For that price there is not much to think.

Funny that in the rush of technology and advancement... no one seem to remember Voxengo's TapeBus from AnalogFlux (particularly with Kingston presets of Otari).

I think it is GREAT, even after all those years.

RealBus is REELY nice and it keeps getting better with every version !

i wish it had tape start as well, not just tape stop. otherwise IMO it's perfect.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

going OT here, but does anyone remember Kingston's Retroband plugin? I still use that regularly. And ever since getting a new computer I don't have a bug anymore that I had as the only user. :)

yes, that would be really nice. to some it might just be a gimmick, but to me both start and stop are really useful effects.

Where can I find Michael Kingston's Otari 5050mx MkII preset? Google pointed me out to a link on his website that's broken, and further investigation only led me to Retroband.

its funny how people are taking a look at tapebus after all these years! hope the new found interest gets us an update for it. after all it took reelbus to bump it down the tape sim list an how many years in between was that. tapebus if you take the time to set it up it works. reelbus is faster to set up for new hands. i cant get either one to sound a like so they both work for me

Definitely a great tape saturation plugin. I just wish they would add a dry/wet option like with the URS Saturation. They can take off the tape stop feature :P

Post

yea i dont need tape stop i hope it doesnt turn into an delay

Post

I use it mostly on hi-hats, snares, and bass with great results.

Thanks Michael!

holy cow! :o

can't find any words for this update but sure it is surprising me!

the clipping section got a complete overhaul and the mid-side-mix feature (developers do you read this?) is the way to go, imo.

i already loved the clipping behavior in the previous version but the new emphasis adjustment with mid-side is purely great. :D
well,it's always a matter of taste and this is my taste. :hihi:

although it seems there is much more going on under the hood, the mid side (sometimes) isn't just eliminating the distortion on either the mid or side completely, depending on how you dial the knobs but don't expect a review from me now, can't really explain it. :hihi:

a overall wet dry knob could be handy now.:)

aaah, yes and latency (if it is reported correctly) is much lower now.

well done Jeroen!

You just killed KVR :hihi:
